Ranger temp control
on June 16, 2018
Posted by: Kris Niffenegger
I received my Ranger Thursday and finally got a chance to set it up today Saturday. I did the initial heat up to burn residue. I set it for 450 and let it run longer then the 30 min just to check temp. It never got higher then 457 or lower then 444. That is only a 13deg variation from set temp. My oven probably varies that much. I am very impressed so far. At 5 pm it will get the Porterhouse Test. Stay tuned... With that kind of temp control I bet it would do a really good job at beef jerky. Of course using minimal temp.

I really wish this grill had WiFire. I bought it because it's the only size that will fit under the cover in my truck bed but really wish it had wifire.

Hi, and thanks for providing your feedback on the Traeger Ranger. As convenient as the WiFIRE feature is on those grills that come with it, the Ranger is designed to be a basic, portable smoker for tailgating, car camping, or anyone who just doesn’t have the space for a full sized grill. And while the ranger will still provide the same great results as our larger models, the bells and whistles that come with it need to be limited due to its reduced size. However, we always appreciate getting feedback and do pay attention to what our customers have to say.

We received our 575 Traeger as a gift. Tonight is the second night using it. We love it. Had stk last night. Juicy and tender. Anxious to try recipes. Being able to check temp ect with the app is awesome

Well worth it

Had this for 2 years now and still working good. It is a little hefty for its size but we do not go camping or tailgating without it. It may not regulate the heat perfect, fluctuates from 25 under to 25 above set temperature but I'm not trying to win any competitions. I have cooked baby back ribs, wings, reversed seared ribeyes even a small prime rib! All came out near perfection. I'm waiting for my BGE to crack so I have an excuse to buy a full size traeger for the house.

Bought it to use for camping and had it stored in a garage. Used it a total of about 10 times over 2 years and flame stop igniting and then couldn’t maintain power even when plugged in at the house to inspect. Unfortunately out of warranty.

Hello, and thank you for your feedback on the Ranger Pellet Grill. Unlike other products that you may be familiar with, even if your Traeger is no longer covered under the warranty, you still have access to Customer Service for in-depth troubleshooting for as long as you own the grill. And since many issues can be resolved without needing a new part, it is very possible that the fix won’t even cost you a dime. However, should you need to replace something on the grill, not only are components less expensive than you might think, but we will also stand by our assessment if the item purchased was not part of the problem. When you have a moment, and are with the grill, give us a call at 1-800-TRAEGER any day of the year. There’s nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time, which is all it might take to get your Ranger up and running like new.
