The grill is great but I ordered 2 bags of pellets which still have not arrived. It's been over a month now. Kinda hard to use the grill without pellets and at no point during my order was I told pellets were out of stock or on backorder.

Ranger temp control
on June 16, 2018
Posted by: Kris Niffenegger
I received my Ranger Thursday and finally got a chance to set it up today Saturday. I did the initial heat up to burn residue. I set it for 450 and let it run longer then the 30 min just to check temp. It never got higher then 457 or lower then 444. That is only a 13deg variation from set temp. My oven probably varies that much. I am very impressed so far. At 5 pm it will get the Porterhouse Test. Stay tuned... With that kind of temp control I bet it would do a really good job at beef jerky. Of course using minimal temp.

I bought this when we got our new RV and used it on our first trip. Setup and seasoning was simple. Cook temps are accurate and results were great. Made 3-2-1 ribs this weekend and I think they are some of the best I’ve ever eaten.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great flavor from a small package!

Bought the Ranger grill in September 2024 and have cooked a bunch of great meals on it. I have used it in a mix of weather, mostly in the 30s to 50Fs, and have had no issues with it keeping temperature. I have used it to smoke salmon (180F), chicken (250F), and fresh sausage (220F). It is relatively easy to clean up, easy to set up and use, and the flavor from the pellets is great. It can hold a surprisingly large amount of food. Last night I smoked a large chicken and placed 6 fresh sausages around the side and still had plenty of room for the smoke to move around. I have experimented with running it as a smoker at ~250F to get flavor on a chicken and then finish at 450F for 30 minutes to crisp up the skin and it has worked quite well (just have to watch for flare ups).
I bought this to use when traveling in our Airstream and it has been great for that. I keep in in the tow vehicle and pull it out and have it set up in no more than 10 minutes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had this for 2 years now and still working good. It is a little hefty for its size but we do not go camping or tailgating without it. It may not regulate the heat perfect, fluctuates from 25 under to 25 above set temperature but I'm not trying to win any competitions. I have cooked baby back ribs, wings, reversed seared ribeyes even a small prime rib! All came out near perfection. I'm waiting for my BGE to crack so I have an excuse to buy a full size traeger for the house.
