Cannot hold Temperature

Purchased the Ranger about a year ago and it has been a huge disappointment. Rarely does it stabilize temperature and I constantly have to restart it because it overheats. For example, today I cooked pork belly at 275 degrees. The temperature ranged from 250 to 425 and after 3 hours it overheated. Unfortunately this is not an isolated occurrence and I deal with these issues every time I cook. Do not waste your time or money on this product.

Can't hold temperature

Virtually no temperature control at low temps (100 degree plus). So not reliable for smoking food. High heat works fine. Disappointed.

I bought this when we got our new RV and used it on our first trip. Setup and seasoning was simple. Cook temps are accurate and results were great. Made 3-2-1 ribs this weekend and I think they are some of the best I’ve ever eaten.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have a Larger Traeger But it's difficult for me to get around now that I have back issues are you able to cook an entire Brisket on the Ranger just like the larger Models?

The Little Grill That Could

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been cooking on a Ranger nearly since its release last year. This mighty little grill is used so often in our family. Having owned from a Junior, to Lil Tex, to Gen 1 Pro Series, a Select Pro and Pro 575, we found we were using this little Traeger for so much. The included griddle is so amazing for searing and we never miss using it for bacon and eggs. We literally used it today to cook breakfast for lunch. Buy It! You will be amazed at its portability. We have a portable power station and we even cook on our 18’ fishing boat.

This is my 2nd Traeger. Very easy to clean and so far, I love it. Bought the case and use it as a cover (flipping it over). Then, I can pack and carry as needed.

60lbs is not portable. temp drop 50 deg when putting anything on the grill

The Ranger's steel construction weighs in at 60 lbs with a hopper capacity of 8 lbs. The legless design and weight savings of 80 lbs or more over our standard models offer significantly increased portability.
All grills will let out heat when the lid is opened. The Ranger's controller will work to restore the set temperature after closing the lid to get your cook back on track ASAP.

For the price, I'd expect the grill to come with all of its parts required for assembly...it looks like a product I would like to use, but now I've got to wait again... Not the quality I was expecting at this price.
