Beat all my expectations - quiet, amazing cooling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy that I bought this unit when I did. I'm not certain if this is similar to other units in the past, or they've updated the technology and quietness of these units (this was my first experience with a window unit). I have central A/C in my house, but I have one large room that overheats. The unit was easy to install (~1 hour?). The app works well and similar to a Nest or other thermostat app.
Most importantly, it is quiet! I barely notice it if I'm watching TV. I also can't hear it from outside, so it's not annoying to neighbors or passersby, which was something I was worried about.
The cooling works well and it doesn't stay on very long to cool my room, which is ~17'x15', with a couple fridges and a lot of media/computer equipment producing heat.
I highly recommend this. My best purchase in 2020!

Good AC, Terrible App, Leaves Gaps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ac itself is great. It's quite and looks nice. I'm deducting two stars for several reasons:
1) The app stinks. Either that or the ac itself disconnects from wifi. The smart feature is basically unusable, so don't pay extra for that. It took me over an hour to set it up the first time, and after a day's use it disconnected and refuses to reconnect.
2) The bars on bottom rattle. I had to tape it to the body of the ac with clear tape. Not a dealbreaker but it should be fixed.
3) It fits poorly into the window. Unless you have a wooden frame to screw it into--which who does nowadays?--you won't be able to screw it in. My window frames are metal, and the ac just sits there with a large gap around the sides where the fanned section sticks out where light, bugs, and hot hair comes in. I tried stuffing it with the foam they supply but a) it's black b) didn't fill the gap. Right now I have it stuffed with paper towels, which got soaked during the last rain, and had to go buy white foam I hope will work. They need to design ac for people in apartment buildings or in houses built after 1930.
4) It turns on and off a lot. There should be a way to disable to thermostat so it just continuously pumps air in regardless of room temp.

Quiet and effective AC. App is terrible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Please update the app - it crashes constantly and registering products is buggy. You actually have to put an address in the website, then enter it exactly as it is in the app. Very poor development. Also once it is setup, connecting is shotty. Most times app crashes on open. I change location settings to never, and it seems to solve but app still crashes.

Expected Better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Expected more from this AC unit, especially with the price they're charging for it. Dislike the following:
The AC defaults to a factory setting every time you turn it on, and not the setting based on the last use. So you have to adjust your setting each time you turn it on.
The AC switches from Cool to Fan frequently and it not quiet when does so.
The AC makes a loud hissing noise when in Cool mode. Apparently this is normal as per the instruction manual.
Wifi setup and the app is an absolutely nightmare to navigate.

Terrible cloud consistency

What is the point of buying an air conditioner that has WiFi connectivity features if the cloud platform that it connects to is unreachable almost every day? From my experience, the Electrolux cloud network has the worst up-time record of any smart device company that I have owned. SmartThings, LIFX, and other smart device manufacturerers have network status webpages for incident and maintenance reports which helps the consumer to identity connection problems - Electrolux does not. Lastly, and equally important, the Android app is very poorly designed. Save yourself the frustration and do not, under any circumstances, consider buying a Frigidaire branded "smart" device. I have learned my lesson the hard way, never to buy another Frigidaire product that offers features that rely on their cloud platform.

Wifi and App are useless

Amazingly quiet and efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced an older 10000 BTU Frigidaire unit with this new 8000 BTU unit, and it's been absolutely great! This new window A/C unit is amazingly quiet, even when the compressor is running. Major improvement over the older base model Frigidaire, and definitely worth the extra money. The WiFi enabled feature is nice, as I can control the unit from anywhere via the Frigidaire smartphone app. I'm seriously considering buying a 6000 BTU unit for my home office to replace the noisy existing unit.

Quietest on the market

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two previous generation 6k Frigidaire Quitet Temp models & although newer 8k model is slightly louder this is still the best quietest unit on the market. It doesn't get quite as cold as a GE I tried but the supposed quiet GE was so loud it got returned. I don't care for the updated grill on this second generation model. It doesn't direct the air flow by sucking from the floor & out the top. I also wish Frigidaire would return the 8 way directional out grill as the 4 way is fairly useless. I would definitely purchase this again because it's the only unit that is quiet enough to sleep when you are a sensitive sleeper. The filter needs improvement as there's lots of ways for dust to go around it.
