This is a great product for anyone having back problems or other pain related problems. I use this every day after having 4 back surgeries and the relief is better than pain medications. It also has a 2 hour shutoff in case you fall asleep.

Potential fire hazard

Today is September 1st and I am once again without a working heating pad ! I purchased one ,( same model ) in February of this year It died in July , the control and cord heated up , the pad did not . I contacted Sunbeam and after jumping through some hoops ( on my part ) they agreed to send me a replacement - which took weeks to arrive . When I removed the " new " pad from the box it seemed much more cheaply made . The whole texture was different . The outer cover was the same but the inside crinkled and felt like cheap vinyl / plastic . I plugged it in and the pad wasn't anywhere near as warm as it should have been . However , I was desperate so I continued to use it . Yesterday I picked it up to turn it on and the control was VERY hot ,as was the cord ! Now the pad had been turned OFF ! The pad was cold . I unplugged it right away and was beyond grateful that I was home ( with a blown out lower back ) as it quite possibly could have started a fire . All I can think about ( other than how angry I am ) is the possibility the someone out there could be seriously injured by this product !
The King Size covers my back, do not have to move it around to get completely covered. I only wish it could get a little hotter.

This heating pad is nice and soft and I like that you can turn the timer off so it stays on until you turn it off. BUT it doesn’t stay very hot for very long. Also, the connection where the cord plugs into the pad is not very strong. It comes unplugged from the pad any time I move during the night and then it turns itself off and starts flashing and it wakes me up! It’s upsetting because I have to get up from bed, go to the outlet and unplug it from the wall, plug the cord back into the pad, and then plug it back into the wall and restart it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rediculous

I just bought this heating pad yesterday. I took it out of the box and it’s flashing F. Didn’t even work once. As per all the other complaints I checked the cord connection, it’s tight as can be. VERY VERY disappointed in addition the fact that you don’t tell anybody what the F means in the manual is ridiculous. How can you continue to sell what obviously a defective product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great heating pad, plug could be better

The heating pad is a nice long length (24”), so it’s wonderful that it covers most of my back. It’s nice not to have to move it around. It is very soft to the touch. There are very easy to understand instructions on how to operate the controller. There’s not many choices but you have options on the level of heat and whether you want it to stay on continuously or automatically shut off in 2 hours. I noticed it only had 6 heat levels and I thought that might be a problem for me, but it isn’t. I usually use the highest setting and never feel that it is too hot or end up with red marks.
The only thing that I’m not thrilled with is the big plug that is in the actual heating pad. It’s a bit cumbersome. It’s there so you can disconnect and just wash the entire heating pat. Which is nice. Yet, at the same time just that part alone is quite bulky and if you happen to move and end up on it, you feel it immediately.
Other than the plug, great heating pad.
