[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is actually the first phone I pre-ordered, and that was because of the trade-in program! I've been using the S21 daily since it first came out, and have had no issues with it yet.
My favorite features on the phone is the 5g, how good the camera is, good battery life, HDR, and the speakers with atmos enabled.
After noticing that T-Mobile put in 5G in our area, I decided that I wanted a 5G phone, and I was not disappointed. I'll give people who's reading this a little advice. If money is tight, and you don't want to pay for home internet, you can use these phones as a desktop computer, by using the built-in deX feature. You can have a desktop PC experience with 5G internet already working, no router required! Yes, you can do everything a ordinary PC can do, audio/video editing and uploading, browsing the web, using the apps already downloaded, play games, using a office suite, etc. I've done it, and it works better than you think.
After all of that, my favorite thing about this phone is the camera. With my previous phones, Note 9 included, I've had trouble with motion blur when taking photos. I have not had that issue with this phone. I also like that what I take photos outside at night, it almost looks daytime, how bright the photos come out. Been waiting for something like that for years. When it comes to recording video, there's a awesome feature turned off by default everyone should turn on, which is HDR10+ mode. It makes the brightness, contrast, and colors of the recorded videos pop. I have been uploading samples to YouTube, to see how they look on my 4k TV, and was not disappointed.
Battery life is pretty good. I use the phone pretty heavily, and do get a full day out of a charge, which is awesome. I'm a big surround sound person, and was pretty excited when I watched videos with the phone. With the atmos turned on, it does give you a surround sound effect, which is something I look for in a phone/tablet nowadays, for that reason alone. The speakers themselves are loud and crisp, about what you'd want if you plan on listen to anything through the phone.
The only downside, for me, is the removal of the MicroSD card slot. It's not a big deal, since you can get a USB-C OTG cable, and transfer your files to a flash drive, which is what I've been doing. Other than that, I have no complaints, and would recommend the phone to anybody.
