Good microwave and improved design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good microwave after 2 months. The microwave is the most used appliance in our kitchen from defrosting to reheating drinks and foods. It heats foods well, but the hood is so-so as expected with most over-the-range. Bought this to replace an 11 year old similar 1.6 cu. ft. model. Fits perfectly and a bit shorter than the old one. The old microwave was still working but the plastic around the door was melting and coming apart. Probably my fault for letting the crud and grease build up. This new one has a metal "shield" and a 1/4 in. air gap between the plastic parts across the bottom so I'm hopeful it will last even longer. Opening and closing the door is much easier than the old model.
