Touch screen did not work. After some time on phone with technical assistance, screen worked but failed again the next day. Sending back for replacement.
This new Laptop is wonderful. The backlit keys, the touch screen, the fingerprint key are great. The large screen and speakers look and sound great too.
After 3 days use it already blue screen. I have the usual programs nothing extra. Microsoft 365, Adobe Reader, Google Chrome and outlook. I will be returning for a full refund.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a 17" Envy that I'd picked up several years ago. That one was a step up from the model I had before that. But to my surprise, this unit is heads and shoulders above my last unit. I use a computer for general use (email, book keeping, search engine, genealogy, CAD drafting, etc.) so gaming is not a priority. However, this unit makes my old unit look like it was so slow in performance it is astounding. I would recommend that for general use, a larger screen for older eyes, and all around performance that one consider this unit. While there is no DVD/CD on the unit, I've not been hampered in installing software. There are more than enough ports, the screen is crisp, and the speed is outstanding. I've fallen for this machine and I tell my other half daily about how happy I am with it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Laptop after my 8 year old HP Envy Laptop started showing signs of needing to be replaced. (Needless to say, I was planning on buying one in January anyway.)
Unlike the other devices I've ever bought that were HP, this was my first one ordering online and fully customizing to meet my needs. You see, I'm a video maker/editor on YouTube and I needed something EXTREMELY POWERFUL for multitasking. My old HP Envy was my most powerful device out of the 3 I've ever owned. (I've owned an HP Envy, HP Notebook, and some sort of HP All-In-One PC. All in which I love.)
I decided to customize it to have all it's most powerful options, because I know I'll be using this for YEARS TO COME. I even got 3 years worth of protections, because I knew I would be using it for a long time. (That's just how much I love HP Laptops/PC's!)
It met all my requirements: Being able to run multiple programs at once such as Elgato Game Capture + Discord + an Internet Browser + Actually being live on YouTube, alongside Magix VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 14 + my thumbnail making program + Discord + an Internet Browser playing a video in the background, and many other combinations that include programs that take up so much of the Laptop's multitasking power.
__________
Right now, I have one issue, although I'm currently not sure if it's actually the computer or some sort of weird Windows Update (take this with a grain of salt, please): I suddenly lost the ability to use it's touch screen. Like out of the blue, it stopped reading my touch. The reason why I'm not positive about this is because my other HP Envy (that is 8 years old by the time I'm writing this review actually) also lost the ability at about the same time, but the HP All-In-One PC (which I got last year in June) still has the ability.
I need the touch screen ability, because I was planning on getting better at digital art. Me touching my screen and using my finger to draw has always been my way.
__________
Other then that one issue (which, by the way, I don't currently believe is the computers fault. I just thought I should add it so you, the people reading the review, could know about something that happened within the 1/2 a month I have had this Laptop) - I really love this laptop! I've used many different brands in my life, but HP was the first one I ever bought with my own money 8 years ago. I bought an HP Envy back then and finally decided to get another. It's defiantly better and improved!
I recommend this to those who need a powerful, multitasking PC. It's completely worth adding on the extra, more expensive options. (The only thing I currently cannot say for sure is if it's good for multitasking with an online MMORPG and recording at the same time - for example: Wizard101 and OBS/something similar. I have yet to test this, but if this device can handle all of what I said above at once, I'm confident enough to currently say it can the possibility is EXTREMELY LIKELY.)
