The laptop replaced I previous HP laptop I have had for 8+ years. That was a good laptop and still is but was time to replace. The new HP is great. It was easy to set up. I expect to get many years of service from it also.

Unacceptable performance

We purchased an HP Envy about a month and a half ago. The C drive is already almost full, the laptop is freezing all the time, videos lag terribly, and I'm having to reset it constantly to get it to recognize external drives attached via USB. I'm amazed at how poorly this laptop performs considering the high price we paid. Our previous laptop was a Pavillion, we loved it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
