Years ago I could purchase a computer, have software loaded, have the same specs as this one, for similar or less in price. The computer is fine. I just get frustrated we get less and less for the same or more money.

This is a very fast machine, compared to my oldie. Although, it's hard to believe that a modern-day touch-screen is not compatible with an active stylus, especially one of your own.

I have had my HP ENVY Laptop - 17t-cg000 CTO for over two weeks now, and I honestly can't find anything I don't like about it. I researched and shopped for over two months to find the best feature/performance value. This elegant machine exceeds my expectations! Those expectations were developed from having owned a personal computer since 1988 (including the first Compaq "luggable" portable) along with years of experience building and troubleshooting PCs. I wanted the highest possible processing power at the lowest 10-25w power consumption, so I opted for the Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU with 16GB 3200MHz RAM. (Less heat, longer battery life.) Not the highest processor in that category, but close and the higher memory speed makes up any difference. The NVIDIA GeForce MX330 w/4GB is perfect for my display needs. (Yes, I still like to play and I have a couple of subscriptions for online gaming.) The 17" screen is really beautiful and bright. I have actually turned down the brightness a few times. Sound is unexpectedly clear and rich for a laptop. I use a headset for gaming (of course), but video conferencing with external speaker/mic is very nice. Yes, the HD camera is as nice as HP suggests. Keyboard is perfect for size, spacing and touch including a numpad and a fingerprint reader that works great. A fun fact is there is backlighting that has two levels (plus off) of brightness easily toggled by what would be the F4 key at the top. Looking at this machine on my coffee table every night, I'm still struck by how sleek and elegant it is. Look for it to come up in HP weekly or special promotions and know that there are often configuration options for processor/RAM/storage/video you can customize for your best value.
