Compressor slams on/off

It does a good job at removing the moisture for this space but the compressor slams on/off making it sound like someone is banging on the wall or something. My 50 pint GE dehumidifier that I’ve had for 5 years isn’t even as loud it seems.

It works, but….

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] How can you clean inside the unit - with soap, as is required, when you can’t remove the lid? I will use the unit until mold grows in the water chamber. Please improve design. This is a deal breaker.
