Never turns off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the wettest July in history in metro Boston and after 6' of rain over 3 days, we got some water in our cellar. Not a lot, but enough to create a moist environment. I bought this dehumidifier and within a week, our cellar was dry and comfortable. I plan to use it during periods of heavy rain and/or high humidity in the future to prevent mold and mildew. It is easy to use and to empty, plus it's not too heavy to move around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small apartment with a window A/C that puts too much humidity back into the space. Likely an oversized A/C for the overall space as it seemingly drains ok. The extra moisture caused mold and mildew to form on the A/C parts and other high humidity problems in my apartment (wet feeling, paper curling type things). Plugged in and turned on the dehumidifier and within the day, brought RH down to 40-42%. Much better. I empty the large capacity drain bucket once a day, maybe every other. Granted the dehumidifier exhaust warms the space so the A/C runs more to compensate for the need to cool the space, the A/C has not developed any mildew/mold since the more dry air is now going over the coils than recycling more wet like before. The fan, on high, is loud, but I can still sleep through it. Overall, it meets my need and is less costly than one of those wall mounted mini-splits which I’m not too keen on just yet anyway.
