Works well but has drawbacks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit is pretty quiet on low speed and not bad on medium. You can hear it, but it's not intrusive. Does a good of removing moisture. It has a single plastic handle in the center of the top. This seems unsuitable to me for a unit that weighs 40 lbs. Perhaps for a very strong person who could do a one handed lift, this handle might work. A similar unit from another maker has handholds on each side, near the top. This lets you spread your arms and is much better suited to lifting this amount of weight. If you need to get this unit downstairs into your basement, you had better have a strong helper. Also note that the air intake is in the rear of the unit, and the exhaust comes out the top. This might restrict placement near a wall, whereas a front air intake would be ok. The cord is too short. It is only 5 ft long, and this doesn't allow you to place the unit in the middle of a room that is any bigger than 10 feet. That's a pretty small room. In a wide open basement, that only has outlets on the walls, the short cord limits placement. If I had shopped little more carefully and knew about the cord and the handle, I would have kept looking. It does have a 2 gallon tank, which lets me run it on low and empty it just once a day. I would give it 5 stars with better handholds and a longer cord.

GREAT PRODUCT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is an actual difference, huge difference, between before I got my Frigidaire dehumidifier and after. I can really sleep much better and my family too. My child with disabilities feels so much more comfortable and is smiling again.
