great for seniors

Having issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rating will change based on resolution. Trying to get a hold of someone to troubleshoot an issue with the fan having trouble starting up. Right before compressor kicks on the fan sputters about 10 times. Sometimes the compressor won’t kick on. This happens about half the time. No luck on contact.

Unit is fairly quiet and offers a heat mode

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit and most 'portable' units expel a lot of indoor air. This means that wherever hot, humid or cold, outdoor air can be pulled in to the room or house it will. This greatly reduces the efficiency of the unit and adds to the electrical cost of operation. Also, in 'heat' mode the condensate will be pumped out through a small hose that passes through next to the window vent. In A/C mode you will need either a container or have a drain close by as the condensate produced in this mode is not pumped out but drained out through a different connection on the unit. Just a heads up: if you have a wood burning stove in your house/cabin be ready to seal off the chimney as you will be smelling the chimney stink when you run this unit in either heat or A/C mode! In hindsight we would have been better served with a window unit.
