not so great for your buck

Although it is a quieter model, if you don't open the door right after drying then all your dishes stay wet due to the moisture inside and because the panels are inside and it does not prompt you when finished makes it difficult to know when to open the door, wich also has to stay open after putting dishes away to dry the inside-the design inside is odd too, not enough silverware space and the basket is poorly made
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works well but some design features are not good.

We purchased this in May from a Big Box store to replace an old one (not GE). The dishwasher works well in cleaning and is fairly quiet. The layout of the main basket is what I consider not great. The main complaint is with the utensil basket. It is different from all others I've seen or used. It is too small and the space it is supposed to be in blocks other slots for smaller dishes. Shifting it forward of its intended position leaves is loose, attached to only one post that holds it in position. If there was a better version, I would buy it. The quality of the unit remains to be seen.
I'll give it a qualified YES for recommendation.
All of our major kitchen appliances are GE. Only our microwave is not due to time frame to get a GE.

We are so sorry to hear that the buttons on your dishwasher are not easily accessible for you since it is a top control model. With top control dishwashers, you will need to open the door to select the wash cycle and then close the door. You will not be able to access the control panel while the door is shut.
