Hi - Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and concerns regarding your new dishwasher. We regret to hear you're having difficulty with the unit and with the dry performance. We're not entirely sure why you are having to start and stop the cycle repeatedly. Once you start the cycle, there would be no reason to press Start again unless you open the door prior to the completion of the cycle. Please review page 5 of the owner's manual for information on selecting the best cycles and options -- https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55124-5.pdf --
Great dry performance begins with good hot water coming into the unit. We recommend a minimum of 120 degree water coming in to achieve the best wash and dry performance. We would also recommend choosing the Wash Temp Boost option to further increase your water temperature. This model offers our Condensate Dry Feature which is an energy-efficient drying system on select model dishwashers. With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and also aids the drying process. We hope you find this information helpful. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

Does the job

It doesn’t dry very quick. I have to leave my dishes overnight. There also aren’t very many options on cleaning and my dishwasher packets don’t work with this machine. Does the job in the end but would’ve chosen a different one

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your review. We're so sorry for any inconvenience you've experienced with your dishwasher. Here are some great tips that may help with the drying concern: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17451
Also, if you're using tablets or pods, make sure they are not binding the cup cover and preventing it from opening. We also suggest checking to make sure they are properly lined up in the opening.
Thanks for choosing and being a part or our GE Appliances team! We're wishing you the very best. - Sharon@GEA

Exactly What We Needed

We were needing a new dishwasher that would fit in a 32" tall ADA opening and ended up choosing this dishwasher. It looks great and was easy to install in the space. I tried washing a load before filling the rinse aid reservoir and everything was very wet at the end of the cycle. For the next load, I filled it up with rinse aid and was very impressed that everything was dry, as this was a concern I had since this model does not have a heated dry option. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend.

We bought the dishwasher and it failed after 5 or 6 washes. The technician came and did not have the spare parts and they gave us a new appointment. We have been without the dishwasher for almost 3 weeks now.

I’ve had GE dishwashers in the past and always liked them, this time I got the stainless tub with stainless outside but was disappointed to see 5hat it doesn’t have heated dry and the unit runs louder than my last one, also the space allotted for big pots is not adequate.

Hi there - While we're pleased to hear you have always enjoyed our dishwashers in the past, we're sorry that this dishwasher hasn't met your expectations. We can definitely understand how disappointing this can be and we apologize for that.
While this dishwasher does not have heated dry, using high quality rinse agents such as Cascade® Platinum™ Power Dry™ Rinse Aid or Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid are designed for great drying action.
Most sounds emitting from this dishwasher is normal. To learn more about sounds, you may check out page 16 of your owner's manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55124-5.pdf&_ga=
Also, we're sorry to hear you do not like the design as it doesn't provide an adequate amount of space. If you wish, the Loading section of your manual provides useful tips to allow space for certain dishes.
We sure hope this helps. We appreciate you for trusting GE Appliances. We are always here should you have any questions or concerns.

The door springs are too stiff. Even on the lightest setting the door wants to "spring" shut. We have to hold the door down to load dishes. We hope it improves over time.
