It really is quieter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I wouldn’t say this is completely noiseless, but it is so much quieter than many other blenders out there. I got to try this out for free, but keep in mind I had a pretty decent blender already. I was skeptica, but I actually love this one more! It seems to actually “do” what it says: purée, crush, chop etc what I love is you can even copy a certain famous corner store famous for their slushee type drinks! its a good blender and mine came with a bonus travel to go cup!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so quiet "quiet blender"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this Black and Decker PowerCrush Digital Quiet Blender in exchange for my honest review. On the box it claims this blender is 40% quieter, "Blend without interrupting life." My family and I had to laugh because it's kind of a silly claim. We picked a lot of fresh berries this year to freeze and were excited to make smoothies! So this claim of being quieter, I can tell you I didn't notice it being any quieter than other blenders I've used. That being said, I don't expect blenders to be quiet, I do however expect them to blend, and it does that well. I do recommend following the recommended order of liquids, solids, ice, etc that is posted in the manual, and they are different sequence in the single serve jar than the main blending jar. I really like the design and that it has the single serve blending jar attachment too. The digital buttons are much easier to clean up than tradition buttons and mixing jar is a quality heavy duty glass.

I also can make smoothies for work or on the go. I always have something to keep me nourished throughout the day and no longer eat fast food. I love how easy it is to use and operate. My whole family can easily use this amazing Powercrush Blender! I recommend this to everyone.

Just won't do the job

This is marketed as a "quiet" blender and although I don't think there is such a thing, this is not a particularly loud one. It's not going to make your ears ring after using it.
I first blended softened, soaked cashews (1 part nuts to 2 parts water) and the blender took awhile but did okay, but still more grainy than I prefer. I did not try soaked almonds, just the very soft cashews that would squish together with your fingers. Next I tried a smoothie using proportions of 1/2 milk and 1/2 frozen fruit chunks (about 3/4" in diameter). Blender started to smooth the fruit, but the mixture stalled and I had to add more milk twice. With final attempt with 2 parts milk and 1 part frozen fruit, the mixture stalled again, leaving unblended chunks of fruit. Completely unacceptable. I have a cheap 15-year old, 200 watt slushie maker that will handle the 1/2 and 1/2 proportions without any chunks of fruit and it will do it in less than 30 seconds.
With this blender, you aren't to pulse for more than 10 seconds at a time, and you aren't to run the blender continuously for more than 1 1/2 minutes. You've got electronic controls, so why won't they automatically shut down the pulse or regular modes after the time limits? Another thought: if your mixture isn't blended after 1 1/2 minutes, just how long do you cool down the blender before you start again? The manual doesn't give specifics on wait times between cycles.
If that isn't enough, I noticed that there weren't many parts available for this unit which has been on the market for over a year. I called Spectrum Brands and even they don't have the blade/seal assembly available. Yep...can't buy those parts separately, so that will add to the expense of a poorly performing product. Mine went back to the store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
