This grill is a game changer. When my last grill pretty much was on its last leg (held together by one screw). I began looking around. I knew that Weber was a superior brand grill. After looking I found it to be better then most stores basic models. So I went to the hardware store and was looking at them. An associate showed me this one and I ended up buying it. After nearly taking 2 days to assemble it because we had things to do I fired it up. I was amazed how fast this gets hot. Overall a really top notch grill. I love it and the grill probes just make it wonderful cooking something to temperature. Awesome! My wife and I are totally happy with this purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old (1990 old) Weber was due to be replaced (still worked, just very very dirty, starting to rust) and we shopped for a while before making the obvious decision to replace it with a new Weber. This Genesis II Smart Grill is beautiful. It's big, it grills evenly, sears beautifully, every time. The "smart" features ensure good results every time and now we dont have to camp by the grill while we cook. Info is on the phone, or on the panel outside the grill.
We are confident this grill will last another lifetime and bring many great meals. Only negative was that it took us a while to put together.

Looking forward to using the digital temperature gauge once the controller is shipped. The controller and battery box were missing in my original shipment so they need to work on the QC in shipping. Customer Service has been great. They have answered the calls quickly but sadly the controller delivery has been pushed even further back.
It took about 4 hours to build mainly because I read and then re-read the instructions plus I lost time looking for the missing components. Much credit to the engineering for a easy sturdy build.
This is replacing a Genesis grill that I passed down to my family.
I see they changed the hood vent to be higher and the grease trap is no longer offset (that never worked anyway). Looking forward to see how it cooks.

The grill cooks very evenly. I love the cast iron grates and the way the grease drains to prevent flareups. It seems the quality of the finished product is better than with any other gas grill I have used.
