I like the fire pit, but it has issues

We bought the new version and on the first outing the metal melted on the far side away from the battery on the top and bottom. The unit is cheaply built and the battery should have a USB-C charger not USB-mini. I expect the unit to have a very short life cycle. On the other hand, the unit does get rid of most of the smoke and it is fun to play with. The design and tech is great, the build and quality is low.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

SADLY Disappointed / Didn't even get to use

We reallllly wanted this fire pit... We wanted it so badly that we tried three times to get the fire pit+, but every time we got one it had manufacturers defects. The protective coat finish inside the fire pit was never completely sprayed on the fire pit. Which was sad, because at first we thought it could just be a fluke, so we gave it a second try and once again the fire pit lacked a good protective coat. So we tried one more time... and sadly the same problem. We realllllly wanted it, but after the third try, we knew it was not worth the money and the struggle. It’s honestly a problem with the fire pit + itself and it just may have been a problem in the manufacturing side. Be cautious when buying, because it seems like Biolite’s quality control may be missing these obvious mistakes.

We agree that the variance in the coating doesn't always look the best, but we want you to know that your FirePit+ burn chamber is still fully protected and meets performance requirements for burn testing. Good design but quality issues

I bought the BioLite about a month ago month and overall impressed with its design and functionality. However, be aware there are quality issues - mainly the gap between the grate and the BioLite unit itself which results in a wobbly grate. I would expect more given its price. It still works, but you need to be very careful when opening and closing the grate; otherwise you risk the grate tipping and your food falling over.

Great firepit. The fan really helps the fire get started and keeps it hot. Not too much smoke because the material burns completely, not too many ashes left. The grill works great with charcoal, great to cook on.

Love this thing great for camping or home, nice and portable. The fan is great helps get the fire going without having to stoke the fire yourself. Only fault is don’t turn fan off once fire is going it can melt the fan internals.

Not worth the money. There are better options. It’s too small and doesn’t really keep the smoke away.
I’m really disappointed.

Great design with great customer service!

We bought our FirePit in Nov of 2020 and it worked wonderfully up until a few weeks ago. We're regular uses with camping and using the battery pack as a charger for our devices. For some reason, the battery pack just died. Customer service was very responsive and provided troubleshooting steps. We followed those but unfortunately the battery pack wasn't charging. Since it was still under warranty CS sent us a new one quickly and we're back up and running again. Hopefully this one will last as the replacement is the FirePit+ battery pack. Kids are excited to have backyard s'mores again! Thank you BioLite.
