There is quite a bit of noise from the fan when it’s not on the low speed. Also, the thermoelectric generator is not present so charging is required. It says smokeless however this is not true as there is still smoke present when the fire is going. I like the shape and design and ease of cleaning and transport.

We really appreciate your feedback. Yes, the FirePit's fan will generate a bit of noise, but you shouldn't be able to hear it over a crackling fire and a low conversation. Our team will gladly explain to you some of the reasoning behind not including a thermoelectric generator in the FirePit's design. We'd also love to walk you through some helpful steps for building a smokeless fire (it can definitely take some practice, and we're here to help)!

I've only tried this product once at the time I'm writing this review.....it worked excellent that first time. It's not as smoke free as my Solo Stove but it keeps my feet warm where the Solo Stove does not. Secondly, I can disperse of the embers with the Biolite much easier than the Solo due to the handles, which allows me to pack it up a lot quicker than the Solo (which does not have handles so you have wait a bit before packing it up). So long as it holds up and wears well, it will be well worth the price.

This is the most amazing fire pit. It looks like a fire is floating in a mesh box.
The only thing that is missing from this fire pit, is the thermal coupler that charges the battery and is found on the original biolite which I also love. I purchased the cover with the solar panel to automatically charge the battery.

Nice fire pit however not quite what I expected. The fan seems to simply cause the flames to burn the wood faster and the fan is louder than I expected. I’ve enjoyed it at the lowest fan setting to get a consistent flame with a reduced amount of smoke. I’m likely not going to use it on a higher fan setting than that so I don’t burn up the wood too fast. Nice design and compact size for the price though.

This grill exceeded our expectations. Not only it burns great but the food has an amazing “smoky” flavor. Not sure if blowing the the air causes that but I was instantly hungry smelling my sweater the next day :-)
