Great Design, Bright, Fun

I have been looking for years for a rechargeable emergency lantern that was attractive enough to have out in my house all the time. I chose the AlpenGlow 500 for its design, brightness (500 lumens), and the colorful fun factor! Compared to the old-school lantern I had, it doesn't look like camping gear, and the frosted shade makes the light less harsh, and of course does not rely on batteries.
I am planning on using it as a bedside table lamp, for eating dinner outdoors / party lights, and as a fill light during Zoom sessions. It looks nice enough that it fits into my office and bedroom decor. I feel secure knowing that I have a charged-up emergency light and a power bank for my phone available.
I like the single side option on the Cool White mode — would love for the Warm White mode to have the single side option as well!
There are now couple of other well-designed, rechargeable LED lanterns available — I looked at the Black Diamond Moji Charging Station / Lantern (250 lumens) and the Lander Boulder Rechargeable Lantern + Power Bank (350 lumens). I chose the Alpen Glow 500 because it is the brightest, and of course the others do not have the color modes :) I did like the Moji's option to switch to AA batteries, but I figure if there were ever a long power outage and the Alpen Glow ran out of power, I could always charge the Alpen Glow with my solar battery charger.

Given as a birthday present, excellent light and so many uses.
Love the candle mode on low it lasts for hours, will be great for power cuts, also in our roof tent and caravan awning as mood lighting.
Very well made, what more can you say!

Best Camp Light I've Ever Owned!

I purchased this for a 21-day Grand Canyon Rafting Trip. To say the AlpenGlow 500 exceeded my expectations is an understatement! While we were constantly re-charging our other camp lights, the Alpenglow 500 was used every night for about 4 hours, and only needed to be recharged once! It maintains brightness as the battery life declines as well. The primary white light is very bright and the "Party Mode" and Cycling Lights are really cool. I even dropped it into the water for a second and not only does it still work just fine, I learned that it apparently floats too!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Light is good but needs a handle on top for carrying around and a hook on the bottom for hanging in tent. Light itself though is amazing!!!!

These are perfect lights for a power outage, camping and on a boat. They can be as bright or subtle as you want with all the lighting options available. Highly recommend both sizes!

Easy to operate. One large button to navigate and a nice hook to hold while walking or to hang the light on a loop or string. Lights up a room that is over 100 square feet and the 500 has a relaxing firecracker mode so you can enjoy many colors at one time. The pass through charging is always a handy feature, so the light can be your emergency battery when you are in need to charge your small electronics.

Very fun and bright

Our kids loved having this in out tent. The light is fantastic and the kiddos enjoied shaking it to switch colors. It seems durable.
