Very satisfied with these lanterns. They have many modes and can be very bright. The smaller AlpenGlow 250 has almost the same features as the 500 model in a very compact size.

Just received my light. Besides backyard and camping usage, i wanted to test it to see how it would light up the dining room in the event of a power outage. That dandy little hook on the bottom allows it to hang right on the bottom of my chandelier. On high, it lights up the whole room. Adequate illumination on a low setting. Very impressed so far. I have been interested in this light for ages. Finally "bit the bullet" after reading about yet more natural disasters, heat waves and rolling power outages. Better to light the room than curse the darkness!
