Should have done more research

I use it in my bedroom, but barely anymore. It does work without wifi and it was a pain to set up at first. I wish I had done more research because no where I read, said it didn't work without wifi. Dumbest purchase I've ever made I wish I could get my money back. Also charger doesn't come it so I had to dish out an extra 20 bucks cause you need a special charger. Don't buy waste of money sound isn't even all that good on it.
Cons: Doesn't work without WiFi

Sonos user for 10 years. Purchased this to replace a kitchen Sonos One unit, so that I could bring it outside on the patio every now and then. Since adding this to my existing system, it's been unreliable. No voice assistants work on any of my products now. All of my products, but especially the Roam interrupt or stop playback repeatedly.

I use this speaker in all facets of life. In the morning I use it in my bathroom when I shower. I then carry it to school to use as i set up my classroom for the day. I use it on the golf course. and I also use it to boost the sound of mt ONE in my kitchen when I cook.

This is a great portable speaker. The sound quality is excellent. What's really cool is that you can pair it with another Roam for a nice stereo experience. My only gripe would be regarding battery life. However, it is very nice that you can charge the speaker wirelessly. All in all, for me this is a worthwhile investment and meets my needs.

I love SONOS products. However, I am very disappointed by the Roam. I have nearly every single speaker, including the great sounding One, One SL, the Move, the Arc, the Sub, etc. I hoped that I would be impressed by the Roam and it would sound punchy, but it was a very big let down. Listening outside is not worth it. Even in a small room, it lacks any bass at all. I wish I put the money towards another Move for portable music.
