battery life is not what it should be for the price.

battery life is poor. after a full charge it will not retain the charge for more than a day SO i have to leave it on the charger until i am ready to use. i received this as a gift or i would have returned it for another speaker. i am highly disappointed !

You would think to connect to Bluetooth would be easy but no it's not. For all the trouble I'm having i don't find this worth it. You would think you turn it on and product is discoverable but no it's not that simple at all. I give it 1 star because I've been fiddling with this product for 20 minutes now and I want to throw it away. Why is this not easy?!

The sound is really good for such a small speaker..... However, it seems every time my listening situation changes, and I mean EVERY time I go to a different network, or off network and try Bluetooth, or even go back to my home network I have to set up the Roam speaker all over again. Maybe change the name from Roam to Wander (or Wonder - if it's going to work). This is my only Sonos device. I had planned on setting up a few Sonos Ports to control whole home audio system but they still aren't available so I got a Roam to evaluate the Sonos app (can't do that without a device). Not sure Sonos is the right solution.
Pros: Great Sound, Highly Portable
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

Frustrated every time I use it

Have 5 of the Sonos One, Soundbar and a Move (love the move) but the roam is not what it should be for a Sonos. Sound is good but the interface and process to set up to my iPhone is a challenge every time I use it. It also turns on at random times and when I go to use the battery is dead. Even leaving it plugged into power does not guarantee it will be charged when I want to use it. And when playing the battery life is too short. I've started to also bring my old Jawbone mini and listen to it because it actually connect easily and lasts for hours. Not a fan of this Sonos product. At a minimum they should add a voice prompt instead of the multitude of beeps and boops to know the status during set up. I fid it faster to forget the Roam from my Bluetooth every time I want to and redo the connection.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Battery life, Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable, User Interface

The WORST Sonos product I have ever owned

I was so excited to see Sonos have an easy to grab portable speaker to throw in my bag on the way to the pool. However this is anything but portable. I purchased this just two months ago and the now defunct battery has done anything but assist in portability. Very unhappy and customer service was difficult to deal with and took too long to connect with a live agent. 10 out of 10 will not recommend this product.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Bad Customer Service, Battery life, Chat takes too long for customer service, Unreliable, Will not hold a charge

The roam is the smaller version of the move, easier to move around. Took it on holiday to France and it's an amazing listening experience. The move is great but the roam can roam!! Don't be put off by the hard to set up reviews as it's really easy, as long as you have a good internet connection.

Wish I could see the controls

I wish I could love this devise........I have 4 other Sonos speakers that are awesome. The issue I have with this Bluetooth speaker is that I can't see the controls. They are the same color as the jacket, rather small, and just virtually next to impossible to see with these senior eyes. My wife dittos this problem. If you have perfect eye sight this might be a great product, I'll never know!

Not in love. Have faith in the company but think it was put out too early. Software was not ready for the demands. I have to press a lot of buttons for music to play on stereo when I change to a different platform. I am an old school audio file who misses old school ease and predictable play.
