I want to love it....

Not as powerful (loud) as I'd hoped. Regarding design, it's small...and the control buttons--while being very elegant--are so hard to read, I have to pick up the unit and bring it right up under my nose to see the + and - icons. It's a lovely and smooth unit, but again, I have a hard time even feeling the controls if I'm not using the app on my phone. I had to call Tech Support for help on shutting it down; the representative was extremely helpful but she had to run tests and diagnostics to figure out that the user has to hold the off button for a full 5 seconds, in order to shut it off (otherwise it reanimates...). Finally, how about telling us a charger is required prior as an additional purchase, because a typical iPhone plug for the USB cable provided will not fully charge the unit (unless you wait overnight)?
Pros: Wireless
Cons: Difficult to Use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Roam

I take it outside to the patios. It is handy it that respect. It is difficult to get it to turn 'on', switch to Bluetooth etc. But after the first attempts, it got easier. It was awful to do the initial setup. I had to call tech support twice and they could not get it to work, finally, recommending I send it back as it had to be faulty. I had instigated that action but decided to give it one last try when it hooked up flawlessly and has remained so. But I had to stop myself any number of times from putting it through the garbage disposal, it was that frustrating.
Pros: Streams All My Music, and More, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use

Worth it but needs a bit of work

I have a house full of sonos including 2 roams and a move. These are really great. Compliments my system and adds some portability that I used to rely on other speakers for. Sounds fantastic but not as good as a sonos one. 2 issues that I've had is connecting it to Bluetooth can be finicky especially if you want to connect it to something new but there is another device it's been paired to in the past. Has taken me 5 min on a few occasions to get it into pairing mode without it turning off or switching to wifi etc. Also, I've had to fully reset it 2 times when it would not stay connected to my wifi set up. Showed as connected and playing but no audio. Factory rest resolved the issue though.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Cons: Unreliable

I love music throughout my home. Also a home theater fan with a full Atmos setup (not Sonos).

I love Sonos speakers. I appreciate the portability of the speaker. I was underwhelmed with the sound of this speaker. There was no bass response. I think the addition of a passive radiator would enhance the sound quality. I sent it back for a refund. I've been so impressed with my Sonos FIVES and Sonos 1, I was expecting more

Ignore the negative reviews, this is a Bluetooth portable speaker, not a home sound system. Sonos took a risk to appeal to a larger market, but for a compact Bluetooth/WiFi speaker, this thing is AMAZING. Absolutely love the sound and the trueplay adapts whether you are in the shower or at the beach. I recommend this over any brand of speaker.

I own several Sonos products and love them. This one is the worst. It finally stopped working like many others I see and I contacted Sonos. Luckily they replaced it after warranty as I was very frustrated. They needed to be coaxed to do it but finally obliged as I explained to them how many of the products I owned already. This one is just not there. IU have the Move and it's much better although not as easily moved to remote locations because of its size. The roam just stops working..
