Major Disappointment

I can't tell you enough how disappointed I am in the Sonos Roam. It started ten years ago when I saw that Sonos was on the market and I wanted the system but couldn't afford the price. So I waited. Ten years it took for me to have the money and for Sonos to make an affordable mini speaker which was just what I wanted. The sound is amazing but the power button-press five seconds-press and hold-press quickly and release. There was never a way of knowing what I was doing-did I press too long? Not long enough? I had to constantly reboot the unit to get the bluetooth to sync meanwhile my ancient Jambox is playing music with no issues. Plus no way to wake up Alexa when off and I didn't want it to be on all the time running my battery down. I took this as a poorly designed first try and I am hoping the next generation Roam will fix this horrible button system. I returned the Sonos Roam and I will have to wait longer for a better version. I haven't given up on your company-the sound is amazing-but I think you can design the product much better.

Cons: Difficult to Use, Unreliable

I would not buy this product again

Plan on using it as a travel device. Sound quality is ok for it's size but lacks the airiness that I expected. I'm disappointed on the S2 setup requirements. Setting it up is now preventing both the S2 and S1 systems from playing my music library. Very disappointed and support was no help.

Cons: Difficult Setup

I already have the Arc, sub and 2 one SL, bought the roam to be my portable speaker. Very disappointed that the roam is very hard to connect on the bluetooth, takes forever to find and connect! when using on the wifi works great but when i take it outside never really connects and give me such a hard time to make bluetooth connects when it does. Without mentioning that for other phones to connect is just impossible.
Pros: Wireless
Cons: Bluetooth, Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use

I would not buy the sonos roam again

The speaker sounds a bit like it's under a towel. But most aggravating is its habit of turning on by itself after it has been disconnected from the sonos system. A functional off button sitting on top of the unit that actually turns off it would be nice.
Pros: Easy to Set Up
Cons: Poor Sound Quality, roam turns on by itself and drains the battery

Here are a few helpful tips for Roam's On/Off + Sleep Mode: 1) Make sure you are powering down when not in use (hold power button for full 5 seconds until you hear chime and LED light turns off) this will help preserve the battery life. 2) For sleep Mode, simply press the power button down once and release. Sound is nice but...

I barely holds a charge and the magnetic charger doesn't work luckily I can use my computer charger to charge it but it doesn't look as nice. I didn't want to bother taking it back after reading the reviews it seems that is a common problem.

Device needs instructions on ow to set up to receive various devices rather than go to each device to see how to set it up to get to the Sonos.

Really like this product as I can use with both my Sonos sound system and other bluetooth devices. Biggest issue is it cuts out when connected to my Sonos system, especially using TV. I cannot connect my computer blue tooth to this product.
