Several issues in Community Support Forum with Roam not charging. Most complaints coming shortly after one year warranty expires. It's a fun speaker, but. It worth the risk.

Never heard of a Bluetooth speaker that doesn't work over BT

There should not be a Bluetooth speaker that needs to be connected to Wi-Fi. How am I supposed to use this? Bluetooth speaker when I leave an area with Wi-Fi and I only have a direct connection to my phone. Really not happy.

I am a Sonos fan, and have had great success with all my home products. The Roam seemed to have issues staying connected from early days, but I was able to reset it to make it work. Until it wouldn't do anything one day. The phone operator for Sonos Support told me it would be replaced no charge, and instead I got email with a 30% discount on any Sonos purchase. I did buy again, but am a bit annoyed that Sonos did not stand behind their defective product.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: First one died with no warning

Do not waste your money on this

I have multiple Sonos products which I have been happy with. The Roam, however, was a complete waste of money. The sound quality is not comparable to other Sonos products at all. Every time I disconnected it from my home wifi and tried to connect it elsewhere, I had problems when I returned home and tried to reconnect it to my home system. I could live with that until the last time when I took it somewhere and when I brought it back home, it would not work at all. The device will not charge and therefore cannot connect. I contacted customer service about it and was told that I was out of warranty. My warranty ran out in June and it died 3 months later. Absolute waste of money.
Cons: Poor Sound Quality, Unreliable, Short Life Span

I use the Roam in my gym when working out. Very frustrated with it because when I take or watch a video on my phone, or send a text message, the Roam stops playing music. Sometimes it will restart. Other times I have to restart it manually. I never have this problem a Move. I'm considering returning the Roam because of this faulty system.

Cons: Music stops when you text or watch/create video
