I really wanted to love the Roam, especially with the 1 month plus wait I had getting the product. Here's my top 3 concerns on why I could not love this product: 1. For a product that is designed for indoor outdoor use, the black color unit overheats in the sun in 5-10min. Which is just bad engineering on the material choice. If you plan to use this during a picnic or day by the beach, go with the white one. 2. Battery is a joke. While on standby (not actively playing music or voice assistant enabled) it dies without giving you a warming. So unless you turn it off completely in between use, even if you charged it to 100% it will be dead by the time you actually want to use it. 3. Very unreliable connection. This is a major issue - the switch between wifi and bluetooth is not intuitive and you have to figure it out but pressing the power button at different duration. but if you hold it for too long it will shut off. was it too much to ask for to have a dedicated wifi/bluetooth button? or even just a double tap rather than long hold? While connected to Bluetooth, it will randomly disconnect from my iphone. very poor experience compared to other Sonos products. Minor concern: Set up was confusing and buggy. My iphone would not pick up the NFC tag on the Roam and it had to go to alternative setup. I also tried the advertised features of holding the button while close to another sonos units to pair up and could not figure that out... All in all, very disappointing experience.

Cons: Difficult Setup, Low Battery, Overheat, Unreliable

Standby battery is terrible. Dead every time I try to use it

Every time I go to use it, the battery is dead. Even though the last time I used it was charging it but didn't end up using it. Seems like the standby battery lasts only a day or 2. Ridiculous.

Let me start by saying that I am a very big fan of Sonos. I have 10 different Sonos devices. I recently purchased the Roam and I have not been very pleased with the reliability of this new product. Using both via wireless and Bluetooth, there is a great deal of inconsistency with the device. Unlike every other Sonos product, this device is prone to outages and period where it cannot be operated or even turned on. I love the idea of it being incredibly portable, but the lack of reliability prevents me from relying on it as much as I do other devices (when away from home and my other Sonos devices).
Pros: Easy to Set Up
Cons: Unreliable

Re avaluate roam. Horrible wireless speaker and I'ma true Sonos enthusiast. Have it in my home but the roam i hate to say is garbage. Sonos products do not compare to anything on the market but i want bass. Roam truly disappointed me. No bass in roam

I have a wireless charger and multiple USB-C chargers. This speaker has not been charging reliably on any of the cords, or the wireless. It's definitely not me, it's the speaker. This includes the cable which came with it, an apple usb-c cable, and a nintendo switch cable. HUH?! Also, even though I power the device off and quit the sonos app, the speaker still turns on. When? couldn't tell you! It seems to turn on after you've powered it off, sucking all the precious battery life, for when it does decide to charge. Had me wondering if I was actually turning it off. Also there's a delay in sound from video when connected as a bluetooth advice.

Wanted to use this as a portable speaker at home. It froze up and Sonos support could not rectify that. I sent it back. Sonos should be embarrassed at the product, the rollout, the lack of coherent directions, and the lack of support. This makes me regret my other existing Sonos components. I sent the thing back.

Terrible Quality From Sonos

Have a Sonos Eco system in my home. Once I saw this I had to add it to my home plus you can take it with you... Well , This is not your average Sonos quality product. Had several issues with the charging the unit up, had to reset it 2 times already ( keep locking up ) plus the LED battery indicators have a mind of their own! This is the main reason for my return for refund.
