Battery Life Not as Advertised!!!

Bought two of these to take to the beach. Sound is good but battery lasts a couple of hours only - not the 10 hours advertised. Will return both.
Pros: Superior Sound

Terrible battery life, mediocre sound

Due to design decisions, the Roam constantly turns on, which means the battery is mostly drained after a day of non use. It also doesn't turn itself off after a period of non use, so if you forget to physically turn it off, it drains the battery at full power. Haven't seen a portable speaker that doesn't turn itself off in a decade. Sounds is fine for small rooms, but bass doesn't hold up in medium sized outdoor spaces. Very disappointed for the price.
Cons: Poor Sound Quality, Unreliable

I really wanted to love this speaker. I was excited to replace my old jambox but this speaker isn't cutting it. Every time I go to use it, it's dead. Even when I think I am charging it it isn't charging bc I don't have the correct plug. If it needed a specific plug why was it not included? I would not recommend.

After a couple months mine won't stay charged more than a couple minutes! Very frustrated because I am all Sonos and I bragged about their quality!!

The sound is amazing and i think the best one but the battery life is really bad if you want a smart speaker like with voice control get this speaker but if you want to use it as portable speaker is terrible dies in 2 and 30 min all volume and it's not even that loud i returned 5 days after i bought it, and i bought after the jbl charge 5 that think never dies best battery life.

Not Typical Sonos Speaker

Was really looking forward to having the Roam added to my Sonos collection. However, all I have been met with is disappointment after some weeks of use and dead-ended troubleshooting with Sonos Support team. Battery life is not great and somehow can go from 100% to 24% with only an hour of use even while turning it off when not in use to preserve life. Even though it is a smaller speaker I was expecting it to have Sonos quality sound but was also left wanting more from the speaker while my other wireless speakers (half the cost) could put out more volume and bass in the same size speaker. It is nice that it can connect to the rest of my system, but was really hoping and expecting more from it.
Pros: Expandable, Wireless
Cons: Poor Battery Life, Poor Sound Quality, Unreliable

Roam is not worth it!

You need a S2 controller as the S1 will not work. I have 8 S1 speakers in my home and cannot believe Sonos has not back solved for new technology in Roam. Roam is a pain to set up and I've had to do it three times in the first two weeks. I would not buy again but go w a Bose Bluetooth which is a snap to set up and more reliable.

Not easy to set up!

I received this as a Mother's Day gift. I've spent the last month on the phone with tech support multiple times, yesterday for over an hour and it still would not hook up to our system. Not easy to set up and a horrible waste of my time.
