Love the Roam. Love Sonos. All over the house. One big gripe. The Roam does not come with a plug. If you choose the wrong USB plug out of your collection it will not charge, and bounces off your network. You need a more powerful plug to charge it. I learned the hard way.

Cons: No plug

Purchased this as a gift but recipient could not set the Roam up. Instead of returning the unit, I tried setting it up myself. The unit failed to auto-connect to my cellphone but I was able to mate them using the serial number. When I stream music to the roam , many times it sounds like a skipping record. I can resolve this by power cycling the unit and disconnecting and reconnect the blue tooth on my phone. Sometimes this doesn't work and I have to press the start/pause button on the unit. Very disappointing given how well my SONOS sound bar works.
Pros: Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

Amazing sound in such a small package

Sounds great. Exactly what I'd expect from Sonos. Sure, a bigger product would sound even better, but this little speaker has big sound. I keep it on the wireless charger by the door, so it's ready to go when it's time to make pizzas outside with friends. I also place it behind me for an extra kick on movie night.

Sonos Roam: Turns out that you are required to have a specific internet router in order to make the initial WiFi connection that allows Bluetooth. After hours of troubleshooting, Sonos told me to buy a new router because my WiFi provider doesn't have the compatible one. Waste of time and money. Also the buttons are too small and you can barely see them.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. I've had this speaker for months now & it will randomly decide to disconnect from the system. Talked to tech support & no help. Talked to sales & less help. I have other Sonos speakers & they work great. I love the Sonos system. But DO NOT GET THE ROAM! Just gives more headaches then it's worth. I recommend finding other Bluetooth speakers that are more reliable. I have the JBL clip & is just as loud.

Sounds are true but not near the output other portables can produce. It's a nice tag along. I put it in my office at work. I won't purchase another as I am dissatisfied in its ability to compete with the likes of JBL Or UE regarding outdoor ability. Sorry Sonos I love your products but this one falls short. The Move is priced too high for me to consider replacing my UE outdoor portables. I should add that my house is full of SONOS so that should say something.

Incredible portable speaker, and the best for its size. I had a favorite for travel, not sure if I can mention the brand, but the cost was the same and the volume is far superior on the Roam. I have the Roam and the Move, the Move is obviously better and portable if you have a sturdy back and napsack, but if you want something light to hang on your bike and cruise around, these are great. I wish I could give 4.5 stars, the set up was actually less easy than the first Sonos I ever owned (Play 5), and if the battery were double the thickness the unit would be heavier, but possibly have a longer standby time. Also, if you keep this unplugged, make sure to turn it off and not leave in standby. If you have the base, don't worry about what mode its in.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Expandable, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Battery life

This is a great portable speaker. Sounds good for a portable. Love the compact size and how easy it is to use and connect to other Sonos products. The only negative is it doesn't really charge while playing even though it's plugged in to the outlet. Therefore, unless the power is completely shut off, it's going to die. I wish it could charge and still play.
