Love my other Sonos speakers this one is ridiculous too hard to set up doesn't seem to hold power very long not what I was expecting disappointing

Nothing is ever easy

Sonos is so frustrating all the time. I enjoy radio programming and often listen. Randomly our account needs to be reauthorized to get the radio to work. And to find this solution was hours on the internet and in a forum rather than Sonos providing the information or - god forbid - fixing the problem. The roam was a pain to get connected and then if it's paused or change from one station to another it stops working completely except for sporadic bursts of about 0.1 seconds of the programming every 10 seconds. So that's super fun when you just want to play some music or listen to a sports station while doing the dishes.
Pros: If it connects and plays it has nice sound, Increases blood pressure searching for solutions
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

I received this as a Christmas gift to replace my worn out Harmon Kardon. This Sonos is so difficult to set up and use comparatively. It took forever to set up, and still wouldn't work. Somehow, I got it to play by accident one time. Now, every time I try it, the volume automatically goes down to 15. I've reset a couple of times to no avail. Apparently, this is a common problem and support is not helpful.
Pros: Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

I already had an App set up from another Sonos product and when I got the roam it kept looking for the other speaker I no longer have. Bought another brand completely Bluetooth, no App, and it was searching for my phone right out of the box. I prefer a different brand for my home but thought I would give this a try.

Well, when it works, it sounds great. Problem is it loses connectivity within 1-3 minutes of starting playing. I spent a few hours with tech support troubleshooting it, and sent mine in for a warranty replacement. New one has the exact same issue. Once it loses connectivity I can no longer control the volume or change what's playing. As a wifi speaker, it's trash. Might as well be a paperweight. Definitely not buying Sonos products again after all the issues I've had with their products.

Cons: Difficult to Use, Unreliable, is a paperweight

Love Sonos but disappointed with Roam

In general I love Sonos products and have multiple Sonos one's in my house that I love. I bought the roam to be a mobile option but have been disappointed with it. It has a difficult time picking up WiFi, switching between WiFi and Bluetooth when needed and once it starts having trouble it is hard to just reset it and start over. I have some other portable Bluetooth speakers that don't have the WiFi option and frankly they work much better for about half the price. And I also think selling the charger adapter separate is a dirty trick.

I have the home theater and the amp. Big sonos fan. Wife got my the roam for Xmas. Sound is ok, but no bass. My friends have other similar speakers for better pricing which sound better.
