Can't charge and listen at the same time

You cannot charge and listen at the same time. This is a problem because every time you grab this product it will be dead because it turns itself on all the time. Completely worthless. The rest of the Sonos line is great, but this is a miserable fail on all accounts.

Product caused all kinds of issues with my Sonos system

I have a whole Sonos Eco-system in our home. Trying to add the Roam caused utter chaos. It took the system down, never connected right, caused other speakers to play when not connected, etc. After spending hours trying to figure it out, and getting it connected, the speaker just cut in and out. Returned it and scared to try another.
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Poor Sound Quality, Unreliable

difficult to keep in service

It worked well for about two weeks and then stopped functioning. I tried all the suggestions on the web page, etc. but they did not work consistently. It is also frustrating that it is app-based. It sounded good when it was working but it quit. I was able to get it going again but, after this failure, it can't be restarted. I'm done with it...

Purchased this product twice and each time ended up with the same hardware issue and had to return the device. Until you can produce a quality product, I'm not a customer. For the record I own four other Sonos products...

Frustrating experience with my newly purchased Roam

Purchased a brand new Roam and it's been nothing but issues thus far. The unit I originally purchased had connectivity issues where the music would skip every second, rendering it unplayable. The LED lights would just keep cycling between orange and white. Furthermore, the same thing happened when I switched over to Bluetooth and tried streaming from multiple different sources. Perhaps the only positive experience from this purchase so far has been the customer service, they've been helpful in terms of answering my questions and helping with the diagnostics. The original unit was shipped back for investigation and they soon shipped me a replacement unit (btw Sonos only paid for the shipping label so I had to pay for packaging out of pocket). When I received the replacement unit the same exact thing happened again. The tech support told me it's a component issue based on the diagnostics he received. So now I'm waiting for my third unit to show up. Let's see if this one works but I won't be holding my breath. Don't think I will purchase from Sonos again.

Huge disappointment

I have numerous Sonos products and overall love the system. But the Roam is a huge disappointment. My first Roam would spend most of the time just making a "popping" type sound instead of playing music. It took four support calls for them to acknowledge the problem and then replace the unit. However, the replacement seemed to work work fairly well for 4 days... and then the popping returned on this unit also. I'll call in for support on this one too, but this is very disappointing and frustrating. Beyond that, the initial setup experience on both units was less than ideal. The NFC pairing option didn't work on either unit. After it was connected to the app, the unit needed a firmware update (no problem with that), however, after the firmware update was complete... there was no audio coming from the unit at all (bluetooth or wifi). Finally, if you hold the power button for 10sec to do a full power down and power up, you will then get audio. Same experience on both units. Sonos... you can do better.

Absolute Garbage in Bluetooth Mode

Good sound quality and works fine when on your home network. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE as a Bluetooth speaker. We brought it on a trip and stayed in an AirBnB and decided to use it as a Bluetooth speaker. Works fine for an hour or so, then completely disconnects and we have to do everything from power cycling the phone and the speaker, as well as forgetting and reconnecting the speaker. Sometimes it doesn't reconnect at all. Thankfully the AirBnB host had another Bluetooth speaker in the unit because this is BEYOND unacceptable.
Pros: Expandable, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Unreliable

I would NOT buy this product EVER again

I've been a loyal Sonos customer for over 10 years. After roughly an hour trying to set it up, waiting for it to update, pair and tell me error message after error message. I put it back in the box and requested a return. Clearly who ever designed this speaker never used it. Very disappointed with Sonos. Will be shopping elsewhere.
