Would not purchase this item again

The product I requested was the Roam that was able to play music, play YouTube videos, Netflix and more. But it does not do any of those services. I was told that it would work but that is not true. It only works for selected apps through the Sonos app. Not worth it when it is limited to what I can listen to.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Annoying, can't use with my other Sonos S1 speakers

Really disappointed Sonos made this speaker work with S2 app only. Can't sync with all my other S1 speakers. Sonos made Play 1 backward compatible, why wouldn't they do this for the Roam? I would return it but already opened and threw away the box. I guess I'll have to find a new company to buy speakers from when my S1 speakers are ready to be replaced since can't trust Sonos to support the products they sell.
Cons: Difficult Setup

I love all of our other Sonos products but this has been a disappointment. I was looking for a portable speaker and thought I'd try this out since we like our other Sonos products but wish I just went with another Bluetooth only speaker. This is unreal me and constantly cuts out and loses connection. Does this on both Bluetooth and on wifi connected to rest if system.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Unreliable

The Roam was easy to setup and add to my sonos app controller, but where the Sonos Arc shines, the Roam has more difficulty. I found it obnoxious that when the wifi signal began getting spotty, the Roam basically stopped functioning, and now realize the benefit of direct blutooth connections. I'm sad that the roam didn't offer this as an alternative to connection through the sonos app as well. Not being able to use this speaker at the edge of my in-home wifi network was frustrating, and I'm not even sure how I would be expected to use this out and about in the world. Conclusion: Get this if you want a speaker you can link to your other sonos speakers, but don't expect to have much mobility with it.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Did not stream podcast app from iphone, Does not allow blutooth connection

Problem after problem

Would not buy it again. Controls are a pain. Only one button for on/off and connect. Can't tell if you pushed it or not. Constantly turns on and connects on its own and then when you want it to connect it won't. Power cord frayed within a month. Stand up charger was an improvement. Sounds good once you can get it to work. Long battery. Still wouldn't buy it again. I am happy with the 6 Sonos speakers in my house; not this one.
Cons: Difficult to Use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this speaker to be used mainly in our kitchen but liked that it was portable. We purchased the docking station so it's always charged when in the kitchen and we can easily take it other places if we want to. It sounds great, when it works. It is always asleep and disconnected from the Sonos app, it take a awhile to get it turned off and back on to be able to use it. When in use it works for a few minutes and then stops working. For the price it's very annoying that it's so complicated to turn off and reconnect and that it disconnects all the time.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
