Not worth the price, major flaw

At this price point, I can't believe you can't listen while charging. Well....you can, but according to the 2 techs I spoke with regarding the battery not charging, they both said you can't listen to the roam while it's charging or the battery will overheat. They tested mine and they noted the battery temperature was extremely high and climbing if I was listening to music while it was charging. The sound is fine, but I can't believe at this price point, the battery overheats if you use it while it's plugged in.

Don't buy Roam

Doesn't keep connected to wireless wifi (Google Mesh) connection. Hard to re- connect. I even bought a Sonos router which doesn't work with Roam unbenounced to me. At least once or twice a week disconnects. Not reliable at all. I waited too long to take it back to be returned. I would have then purchased a Sonos one which I have 3 of them throughout my house that are reliable, hardly ever get disconnected and sound great. Roam sound isn't bad and maybe better used for Bluetooth which isn't the reason that I purchased the Roam.

Cons: Unreliable

Don't Roam to far from your network

After an hour of trying to get my phone to play music over the speaker, The Roam was connected to my 5G network and my phone was connected to my 4G network and they would not talk to each other. I reinstalled Sonos software and it finally let me play music. I wish it just let me connect with bluetooth and use my music player on my phone, which I have dozens of playlists. I thought I could select a song and add it to a playlist. Thought I could select playlist and have the option to create a playlist. Songs listed in the Sonos app do not show the track length, so I can't discern which ones are full tracks or abbreviated ones. I do not like to stream music, just want to play my custom playlists on the speaker. I won this speaker but not happy with it

Cons: Can't easily create playlist, Difficult Setup

I bought the Sonos Roam because I had had some success with another Sonos speaker. But I began to experience issues with the Airplay functionality (that was so highly touted) immediately. It worked sometimes and didn't work more of the time. I called support and while they were reasonably polite, they never solved my issues, transferred me to different teams and never followed up. This amounted to my Sonos Roam issues not being resolved. So, I'm left with a premium priced speaker that works at a budget level. Compare that to other premium priced devices (ie. all Apple products) and those just work ... and work brilliantly or support fixes the issues pronto. Sonos is smoke and mirrors folks.

Cons: Awful Customer Support, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

This product is a nightmare

I have an entire Sonos system in my home. It's controlled by the Sonos app, but this product requires downloading the Sonos II app.when the unit would not connect, I called tech support and after 30 minutes, the representative told me to contact my internet provider. (There was nothing wrong with my Wi-Fi connection.) I got it to work briefly, although the power button would not power down the unit. Not worth the hassle. I returned the unit for a refund.
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use

I have a sonos move it's great The roam is about same quality as an Alexa Nothing special It's size is nice and it fits the multi room system well but no base. Just mediocre sound. Fine for a small deck as add on but not worth it or stand alone

I spent hours trying to keep Sonos working. Always dropping from my system tab even though they show up on the network map as connected. Wishing I had never bought this system.NOT worth the aggravation
