Well I bought 2 Sonos Roams and now one won't turn on or charge. Now it is a pretty (expensive) paper weight.
Pros: Good Size
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

I could not set up this device. I spent over an hour with technical support. In trying to set up this unit my entire Sonos system got taken down. It is now totally inoprable. Do not buy this unit!

Defective Charging and Support Process

This is my third Roam including the wireless charging pads. The Roam power supply in the unit has failed twice. Both of these I kept on the wireless pad in my garage. A third Roam is in my office has had no issues. Each time I call for support they put me through a 24-hour process to check the power reset. Then it is another 1 hour on the phone going through the same process again. Then you have to provide an impossible SN to read for an already registered speaker. Very painful. But each time they did replace the speaker after other offers, i.e., 30% discount on a new product. I already own many Sonos products for 3 surround sound TVs.
Cons: Unreliable

Never connects

When you are able to connect this speaker, it sounds great. The problem is, you can't connect it. Bluetooth never works, and if you try Bluetooth you will spend a lot of your valuable time trying to get the Wi-Fi to work again. There should just be a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi button. Instead, frustration. Skip it.

Skipping constantly

I bought this because it's aesthetically pleasing and I have friends that enjoy their Sonos products, but wow. This thing is the worst. I turn it on in the same area everyday, and 50% of the time it skips immediately on AirPlay. It's so frustrating to use because of that. interference shouldn't be this big of an issue with a portable speaker, that's it's one job! I've held it next to the router for a better signal. Nothing is far away, there is no explanation for why it refuses to work properly. Avoid at all costs

I pre-ordered a Sonos Roam back in March 2021 and received it in April 2021 and while it lasted it was an absolutely awesome unit. It connected to my main home's Sonos system, allowed for independent music, it was water proof so it was killer poolside, superb sound, and had a really good battery life. Fast forward to 14 months after owning it and all of a sudden it turned into a brick. It wasn't turning on at all, and after some chatting with support it was determined the device hardware failed. However because the warranty ended in April of 2022 the only remediation available was for me to send the unit to Sonos and after that I'd receive a 30% discount on a new purchase. Thanks but sorry will be a hard pass on a new Roam, spending money on a device that could brick after a year's worth of use.
