Great sound, terrible connectivity. I connect my phone via bluetooth, open up youtube, play a video and there's no sound. Everything seems to be in order, but just no sound. Eventually the sound usually kicks in after a random amount of time, anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. This is not what I was expecting from this product and I am disappointed in it. Wish I could get my money back.

Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Takes forever to connect to bluetooth, Unreliable

Bricked itself after about a year

It was great while it lasted. It bricked on me after a while, and support was unable to fix it or send me a replacement. Tried different power supplies, button-press combinations, nothing. So unfortunately, it's now an expensive paperweight.

I bought two of these to add outside for music. I mounted them and walked about 5 feet away and I could barely hear them, the volume was maxed out. I tried playing different music and all the same issue, these are very quiet, I have always enjoyed sonos but these speakers do not live up to the sonos name. I am trying to see about returning!

Quit turning on and won't even charge - for most of us looking for portability this speaker was great for it's sound. But if you consider longevity - look elsewhere. Comments online indicate that if you have had one over a year and it stops working all you receive from Sonos is an offer for 30% off a new one and you have to return the old.

Stop working just over a year of light use

I rarely removed this from the charging base but it recently stopped charging and became a brick. Sonos only granted 30% off next product because it was out of warranty, but properly used audio equipment should last much longer than a year. 1 of 6 Sonos items I bought at the time but now I'm wary of their products going forward.

This is the most frustrating piece of audio equipment I have ever owned. I've been a SONOS user since 2009 and have had great experiences with every product I've purchased until the Roam. It will not stay connected to my system. I am constantly restarting it to get it back online. It's so frustrating that I end up never using it.

2 Units Die After 1 Year Each

My first Roam died just under the 1 year warranty period. It was replaced with a rebuilt unit and the second unit died 15 months after I received it. Both units wouldn't charge. Sonos is offering a 30% discount on any other product, but I am very nervous about purchasing another Roam. I recommend that prior to your warranty period expiring, let your unit discharge fully and try to recharge it to make sure you don't have the same problem.
