This was an additional Roam buy from last year. Whether used as a pair or individually, indoor or outdoor, the sound quality is excellent and provides you with a great listening experience.

It's pretty good on its own. Sounds ok, very clean but not a lot of punch. To be honest my JBL Flip 5 on its own sounds much better. The Roam however does shine when paired to other Sonos speakers. I have the 5 and Roam connected it the living room. Sounds great. I have Sonos all over the house, love the products but Roam is kind of just ok. It's more for lower volume small space listening. Good bath tub speaker I guess.

I purchased the Roam because it was just a little speaker and I have already experienced SONOS products. SONOS products are not cheap. Well I mean this too ways. They cost more than a cheap speaker and they are not built cheap, the quality is great. The Roam was very easy to integrate into my existing system. I have been collecting speakers and sound bars and surrounds for awhile. The Roam was a great addition. The older speakers you cannot take to but with the Roam I can say SONOS play Jazz in the Family room and even if all of the speakers are early versions it works. So the Roam is also just a great fill in on the counter. I can also grab it and take it with me easily. I am really enjoying it. It would also make a great gift to other SONOS enthusiasts.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Wireless

Sound is awesome. I love that you can adjust the treble, bass, and adjust the acoustics to be room-specific. Setup instructions were very vague, The sparse literature led you to believe that set up would happen after pressing a few buttons, but it would not connect. had to search online. Found out that it is imperative to download the app first (many other users have also discovered this critical step). Once that happened there were quite a few steps to go through but it eventually worked perfectly. My biggest gripe is the battery life. My impression is that you are supposed to get 14 hours of life out of a charge. Yesterday I fully charged the unit to 100% then turned it off. This this morning I turned it on to listen to my music (streamed from my iPhone) and it was already down to 75%with no use!! After listening to music for 35 minutes at low volume, it is already down to 65%. I am considering taking this back (but hoping for an exchange) because something obviously has to be wrong with this battery .

I use these primarily as computer speakers. BUT, I can only play what I can link to the Sonos app . If I could get these to stereo pair over Bluetooth they would be perfect. I hesitate to buy an upgraded setup, Sonos One pair with sub, because I'm not sure if everything will play off of the computer without each and every app I might want use being integrated into the Sonos app, if all of the apps will even integrate. Then there's fiddling with separate controllers for the sound and what ever you are playing. Again, make these be able to stereo pair through Bluetooth, and the system will be perfect.
Pros: Wireless
Cons: Cant link a stereo pair on bluetooth, Not compatible with other products

I love Sonos but it's silly that I need to say hey Sonos as well as hey Siri in my smart home if you would allow us to change the access name and Apple did the same thing we would not have to do that

Love the clarity & volume it has to offer & sounds great with the rest of my Sonos system But the battery life doesn't last long in outdoor (winter) elements..also it has a hard time connecting Bluetooth & if you travel & want to connect to a different wifi (motel) it won't connect to a unsecured WiFi as I was bragging about how great it was to friend's on the weekend
