Does not work outside your home which is where you need a Bluetooth speaker. Songs constantly cut out. Save your money as Sonos will not do anything about it. Totally useless.

Couldn't just Bluetooth to it and listen to music. After all the messing around, apps and account set up we could listen but couldn't stream our own music easily. Returned it. But funny how there wasn't an easy remove feature of all the things we had signed up for and felt like it just hacked my life and I couldn't find a reset to factory settings feature. Clearly NOT meant to be a portable and easy Bluetooth speaker to play music.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use

Set up total pain. Can't share easily with others. Poor value for dollar. Other speakers cheaper and similair better sound quality. Good concept of full on Sonos user. Poor instructions, controls not intuitive or well placed, lights?

I want to first start by saying I'm a huge fan of Sonos and currently own 3 Play 3's, 1 play 5, playbar, beam, sub, and 2 play 1's, so I do have experience with Sonos. We were using our Bose revolve plus on our patio for the past 3 years and absolutely love it but wanted a speaker that would link with our Sonos system so we picked up a roam. First of all we rarely get to listen to the Roam because the battery is pretty much dead ALL THE TIME! It literally dies when not even in use, charge to 100% and will be dead in 2 days. I ordered a power bank to charge when this happens when we're on the deck but unfortunately when the battery completely dies it takes 10-15min of charging before it will even power on with a 2amp charger. Sound quality is decent but nothing to write home about, size is perfect for a portable speaker. I have not returned the speaker yet as I'm hoping Sonos releases some firmware updates to fix some of these issues.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Cons: Battery drains when turned off, Battery life

I use the Roam with MacBook, iPad, iPhone for music and zoom meetings. Sometimes it works fabulously. Sometimes I spend 10-20 minutes trying to get it to connect, often unsuccessfully, both with Bluetooth and wifi using my Sonos system that works beautifully always. The level of frustration experienced with this Roam speaker is high. The controls on the actual speaker are small & difficult to see so if you're away from your device, volume adjustment is challenging, especially in the dark. I would love to return it and get a refund.

This has been the most difficult thing to setup using the app. It also does not connect to my wifi and therefore i cannot use it. Troubleshooting w/ both Sonos and Xfinity, still nowhere and not able to use my new speaker. It would be nice if I could just turn it on and connect to bluetooth, like almost every other device. Will be returning.

Attempted to stream music on the go off of phone and pad when away for home speakers. The necessity to link to internet in remote locations contributed to failure of performance. Bluetooth function either difficult or impossible to use without robust internet. Changing of internet locations and hubs on the fly difficult to impossible. Given the market of easy and compatible Bluetooth devices this is a: "do not buy."
