Use this speaker for outdoor music via Bluetooth, sound is great. Battery depletes to quickly, terrible documentation with product, on line manual is barely adequate and IS NOT download able. Unit can not be powered down completely with the app and power button on unit is problematic.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use

Sonos, Roam is a fantastic well rounded product

Was able to bring the Roam for a week long EDC las vegas trip. From start to end the Roam really added an element to the trip that was unforgettable. Being an audiophile electronic music enthusiast, most small bluetooth speakers turn me off and ruin the listening experience with loud unclear audio. Roam is a game changer, be it Trueplay working it's magic- this speaker is able to create a sound profile you expect from speakers at 3x the cost and size. Sure the low ends cut off around 60hz and I wouldn't describe the output as "boomy", but listening to accurate bass was more pleasurable and less disruptive to others, so ended up being a win win. When at home and paired alongside a Symphonics Bookshelf speaker, the bass is fantastic. In addition, the wireless charging function makes for a seamless way of taking the speaker to go, and when returning having it seamlessly charge and connect to my home system without touching ANY cables- game changing!
Pros: Expandable, Superior Sound, Travel, Vacation, Wireless

I can't say enough great things about this Sonos portable speaker! It's very petite but offers loud, clear sound. I have this paired with my smart tv so that I can watch tv from the kitchen and have the speaker near me. It's phenomenal for music too!

Overall a great portable speaker with all of the great Sonos features and more. For its size the sound is really good and the battery is enough for a normal use. Being able to strem to Roam over bluetooth and then use the app to group other Sonos speakers with it is great feature. One button press to transfer the sound from/to Roam is also very handy. Only downside is not being able to use 2 Roam speakers in Stereo while in bluetooth mode or being able to chose which channel to play on which speaker (left/right balance) to be able to group it with another speaker over wifi and just make one of them play only Left channel and the other to play only the right channel. Appart from this everything else is great.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Transfer music from/to Roam and another speaker, Wireless
Cons: Can't pair in Stereo while in Bluetooth mode

I could not play my iTunes unless I opted for Apple Music. I can get CBC but not CBC Music and cannot play RC OHdio. It is like being trapped inside the old AOL with no way out. Shame on you.

I could not be more disappointed with this purchase. I own many comparable wireless speakers that were cheaper in cost and perform much better in terms of battery life, construction, functionality, sound quality and durability. It also doesn't have any hooks so you can't hang it anywhere. The sound quality is below my expectations. It does not automatically turn itself off if not in use, so the battery ends up draining. The battery even drains when it's turned off. When you want to use the speaker, the battery is dead and takes 15 mins of charging before you can use the speaker again, creating unwanted delays. I've called the customer service twice and they did not address my concerns and did not agree to a replacement as I suspect that my battery is defective. We only got the sonos speaker so the music outside would be the same as the one inside. On top of the speaker performance being disappointing, the Sonos app is glitchy. Lately, adjusting the volume on our devices through the app has been underperforming.
Cons: Poor Sound Quality, Unreliable

Got the roam as a birthday gift. It lasted exactly 3 plays over one week. Never got more than 5 hours battery from a full charge (my 10 year old Bose SoundLink mini still gets 7 hours). Power button doesn't work, can't change to Bluetooth mode, can't turn off to standby, runs out of battery and can't turn on, then turns on randomly, then turns off randomly. It's more or less useless. It was my first Sonos product. I'm pretty disappointed.

I am on my second unit (after the first one being replaced by Sonos) the battery dies so easily that every time I pick this thing up, the battery is dead. We try to return it to the charging station as much as possible, but it's meant to be portable, you take it to another room and leave it there for a day? Prepare for it to be dead and offline the next day. I have never been so disappointed in a portable speaker before. Takes a long time to charge, have to contacted support so many times, you'd think there would be software by now preventing it from draining completely
