Roam has an excellent batter life and I like the portability for personal listening. I use it in the kitchen in the morning while making coffee and breakfast and it doesn't disturb my wife who is still resting. I was using the Roam, then it was not charging correctly, according to the Sonos app, so I switched to USB-C charging, discarded the original docking station, and purchased the docking station from Sonos. USB-C charging seemed to work for about 2 weeks, then that stopped working. I reached out to Sonos and they replaced the unit including a new docking station.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Cons: Not crazy about the charging station

I had to return the 1st one because the speaker would not charge. I was able to return it for a new one that actually came with a charger pad. So far it works fine. I frequently have to re-pair it with my phone, not sure why since i don't have to do that with a JBL speaker. The sound is good, but I'm not crazy about the on/off button - would like it to be a little bigger.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult to Use, Unreliable

First Roam failed, however when I called to troubleshoot, Sonos sent me a replacement. This was unexpected and I am very appreciative of a company that backs their products!

The speaker itself is good, but the setup with both the Roam and the Move proved challenging. I have more than 10 different SONOS products but when corporate greed took over and they threatened to make my old speakers into bricks, I lost respect and I am not sure my trust will ever recover. Having to run speakers on two separate systems is nuts.
