A very positive step in the right direction

This was a no brainer. Every other speaker I own is by Sonos. Pros: compact size. Good sound quality. Ideal for the fire pit etc. cons: it can act weirdly when turning on sometimes. It won't play and it gives you no clue why. Is this a must buy? Maybe not, however if you already have Sonos it's the perfect portable addition.
Pros: Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup

Poor power management

For the size the sound is quite nice. The botton tactility is not existing, making it wierd to operate. In stand-by mode it drains the battery 100% and it cannot operate even when plugged into wall outlet. It should go into off mode agter a while in stand-by mode.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Power management

Great sound but the battery dies very quickly. Battery also dies when not in use even when turned off not just put to sleep. Besides constantly charging it's been a great speaker.

The set up was infuriating. I have a Sonos in my home which I love- soundbar, sub, Play x2, couldn't be happier. I bought the Roam speakers to use at our small business (medical spa) so our office manager could control the music in all treatment rooms or give our employees the freedom to pair directly with their phones separately. Disaster. My office manager spent several hours trying to set the speakers up and was unsuccessful even after getting help from Sonos directly. I then spent another 3 hours trying to set up the speakers myself snd was able to get one Roam at a time to connect and play but wasn't ever able to get all the speakers to connect to WiFi simultaneously and show up on the app. I did multiple reboots with factory resets and even deleted and reinstalled the app- nothing. Such a frustrating experience. Sadly I'm going back to simple Bluetooth set up with individual speakers in each treatment room. I was so hopeful these would function like our home system.

Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use

I own an entire Sonos system all around the house and have been happy with their products until the Roam comes along. I bought it as a travel bluetooth speaker as I have a Sonos speaker all around the house already. It works well using wifi at home but very difficult to switch to bluetooth mode outside the home and have had to reset it numerous times with still problems. Trying to return the product even within the warranty period has been very difficult. Do not recommend this to anyone if you plan to use this outside your home.

Cons: Difficult to Use, Unreliable

This tiny speaker is amazingly perfect for the go. It feels great when holding it and packs a lot of punch in the sound. Even when you first open the speaker you see and feel the quality and heaviness. Most importantly, it's backed up by incredible clear sound! Only downfall is on fill volume the bass gets rather weak. Any volume in midrange sound fantastic! I'm super impressed and would highly recommend for your first speaker or even adding it to your Sonos Ecosystem.

I love the idea of this speaker, but so far the battery life is poor. It wouldn't even last a weekend trip camping with maybe 3 hours total play time over 3 day period.... Needs to have an auto off to conserve battery life and figure out longer play time. Great sounding speaker though for the size and love the Sonos integration!

Roam is a perfect fit for anyone looking for listening flexibility from just about anywhere. Roam is a fully functional Sonos speaker that connects wirelessly and seamlessly to your Sonos system. Roam also connects via Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay from your favorite device. Sonos Roam is perfect for nights around the fire pit or afternoons at the beach. After several months of regular use, Roam has earned daily use status while connected at home and when traveling. FYI Sonos ships Roam with a charging cable that is compatible with a number of power adapters. If you want the Sonos charger or the wireless charging stands, you'll have to purchase them separately. I was a little shocked to unpack the unit to find the power adapter was not included. Although I have plenty of those things around, I would have paid a little more for them to be included in the box as part of the purchase.
