I am a fan of Sonos and needed a speaker to travel with on vacation. I looked into regular bluetooth options but wanted the ability to add to my current system. It is easy to use and sounds great. I relocate it outside whenever I want to listen to music and am very satisfied with my purchase.

My husband received this as a gift last May. He connected the Roam and it worked well, both bluetooth and on our Sonos system. Less than 1 year later the speaker will not charge. We have reset the speaker and charged with multiple connectors. Per Sonos customer support, it had to be a certain power connection. That did not work either.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Cons: Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My first portable speaker

I wanted a portable wireless speaker to use with my iPad (or iPhone) for listening to the radio while in my kitchen so I wouldn't have to listen to the iPad's speakers. Since the main stereo in my living room isn't portable I also wanted a speaker I could take from room to room for streaming music from my phone/tablet. My main stereo is attached to a Sonos ZonePlayer 90 which allows my analog stereo to access my computer's digital music files, as well as stream music from any of my computers by using the Sonos 1 app. My Roam has to use a separate Sonos 2 app - not ideal, but no real problem either. I had to get help from Sonos and my ISP provider to reconfigure my router before I could connect the Roam to my Wi-Fi network. Very happy with my purchase.
