I sit outside with my brother on the weekends enjoying a cigar and an adult beverage in my gazebo. Had a Sonos out there, but they really don't like being outside or not always on continuous power. Speaker finally failed, so I got the Roam for Xmas. Easy to take outside and bring back in when we are done sounds great. Highly recommend

the Roam is for sure light weight, portable and easy to move around outdoors. the battery drains quick. The bass isn't as 'boomy' as i'd like and no way to highlight speech if you use as an extra with the Beam. it is 'precision engineered' in that the speaker must be facing you to hear the sound as the speaker sends the sound in one direction only. So if you stand behind the speaker - no sound for you.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Wireless
Cons: sound is one directional
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hands down a great speaker and is awesome!!! I would like to take it camping where there is limited power and only wish it had an RCA jack connection so you could connect it to and ancient NANO. Yes....I still have one.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Does not have an option for an RCA jack
