I have multiple Sonos products and have been waiting for a long time for them to make a small portable speaker just like the roam. Switching from Bluetooth to Wifi sonos system is seamless. The only thing I don't like about it is the battery. It seems to stay in stand by mode 24/7 even when the speaker is cut off therefore a full charge doesn't last along time.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Superior Sound, Wireless

NICE SIZE SPEAKER, PERFECT FOR AN OFFICE DESK; HOWEVER BATTERY DOES NOT LAST WHEN UNPLUGGED, NO MORE THAN 2 1/2 HOURS BEFORE BATTERY DIES. NOT REALIABLE TO TAKE SPEAKER IN THE OUTDOORS. THE BEATS PILL+ LAST LONGER.

Great concept / No Charger

I love the concept behind this product. It allows me the flexibility to link it with my other several Sonos speakers, and move it around from place to place. What I do NOT like is that it only comes with a cord and no way to charge it unless I buy an additional piece of hardware. This continues to be frustrating when I'm not near a laptop, or some other USB capable of offering the necessary power to charge it.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Cons: No charger included

Superior sound, but an Sonia has an urgent need to address battery draining after charge and off of charger. If you put Roam in your golf bag and expect to use it 4 days later, you'll likely be disappointed. Little to no use. If you are diligent in keeping on a charger and use it immediately, you'll be extremely happy with the product.

Great sound for small form factor. Very portable. Poor battery life, may be due to battery drain when unplugged. Does NOT ship with a power supply and needs at least 7.5w power supply. Sonos needs to include an adequate power supply for charging in order to recommend to buy.

Died in 2 Days

I was very excited to get the Roam. I preordered it as soon as it was possible to do so, and I looked forward to adding it to my collection of 10 other Sonos products. I ordered the white Roam and noticed the fit and finish was not as tight as other products from Sonos. There were inconsistent gaps around the top and bottom. I charged the unit and added it to my network. It sounded good, but it died within 24 hours. I tried resetting it and followed the advice of tech support, but nothing worked. I called Sonos multiple times but could not get an actual person on the line. I shifted to chat and they were still very slow to reply. Customer service was dreadful. It took me almost a week to get a return label. There were no human touchpoints. No apologies. No 'how can we make this right'. Just a 'you figure out how to return it if you want your money back'. I returned it and did not replace it. I likely will buy another in the future, but I think Sonos needs some time to get their act together.
