Concerns - battery life and lack of Blue tooth capabilities
on May 7, 2021

The battery doesn't retain a charge for more than 72 hours at best. Would have like to be able to use it while traveling but the fact that it has to be married to a system precludes that option. I understand this is the first version of this device but I'm disappointed that these things weren't considered.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Battery life, Lack of Blue tooth capabilities, Not useable outside of home base.

Mixed bag here, but...

So... OK, it's nice to FINALLY have a small Bluetooth AND WiFi speaker to add to my multi-room Sonos collection. I have a Move, as well, which is great, and serves the purpose of moving outdoors. But the Roam really doesn't fit into my landscape, after all. Perhaps by my bed, but... I have a million great Bluetooth speakers I can use for the minor niche need. I already have a Sonos Play 3 in the bedroom. Perhaps good for a guest bedroom... but... how often really needed? And I could use the Move, if necessary. In the end, I sent it back. Reluctantly. Though I do have a few niggles with it: 1). The battery took two days to charge. It was plugged in - for sure - when I got it at 25% charge. It went down, not up, for a day, and then finally, all by itself, charged up to 100%. Not sure why, but it scared me. 2). I am NOT a fan of the Sonos app. Constantly loses connection and can be a pain to reconnect speakers it suddenly can't find. There REALLY needs to be a better system for reconnecting automatically. It's a big deal. 3). I didn't like the flush buttons on the Roam. Not enough information going on here on the unit itself. Like how much battery is left. The rubberized power button leaves you wondering if it did anything when you push it. You have to have Superman vision to figure out the controls. 4).Sound quality was... good. Not exceptional. For me, it was.... fine. 5). As a Bluetooth speaker, the battery life REALLY needs to be better. I had it on for a night and the next morning it was, apparently, dead. Hard to tell by pushing the button. No light came on, so... I guess it was dead. The app doesn't really tell you unless you're connected. I don't know.... Just not a fan, but others may like it.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Wireless
Cons: Unreliable

Overpriced

Sound is good, but at this price, it should be great. I have a MEGAboom that is just as clear but with lots better lows and at least twice as loud. These speakers do NOT get loud.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Cons: No lows, Severely underpowered, Weak batter life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sounds great, but wish it had more output for outdoor settings. Also wish it would pair in Bluetooth so multiple roams would help with a bigger sound area.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless

Disappointed

Loved the product out of the box. Great sound on my lanai. Then I took it away for a long weekend. The provided soft case allowed something in the suitcase to turn on the speaker. Not realizing this, when I went to use it, it was fully discharged. I tried recharging with the cube for my iPhone with no luck. After over an hour on the phone with 3 different Sonos employees it was determined that the cube was not powerful enough. After learning where this information is buried on the webpage I was able to fix the problem. Recommendations: 1. Case should be hard enough to not allow something to accidentally turn it on. 2. Information about the power requirements should be front and center, not buried. 3. The proper power charging cube should be included. Thankfully this was not my first Sonos purchase, I have 8 other speakers, otherwise it would have been my last.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult to Use, Unreliable
