I was very happy with the two Sonos One speakers I bought previously and wanted a portable speaker to use in my backyard. The sound is good, not great, which I can deal with but the battery life is TERRIBLE. Drains so quickly, I need to charge it almost every day even when I haven't used it. Defeats the purpose of a portable speaker if you always have to plug it in to recharge.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Wireless

The gods must be crazy

This reminds me of the movie, "The Gods must be Crazy" I see all the uses for this roam speaker and it sounds good, works well as a Bluetooth speaker, but like that coke bottle in the movie, it set the whole rest of my system into chaos- my phone only works on my girlfriend's Sonos and hers only works on mine and then only half the speakers show up. I've tried to set up the other speakers back up and reset and reloaded everything. I'll be back after I drive to the edge of the world to throw this thing roam off the edge of the world. It's too disruptive.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use, Unreliable

The Roam is great with sound... very poor battery life. one hour. You have very poor guides to explain how everything works with pairing different music options. I'm sure once I understood it would be fine. But your customer support is horrible as well being that it's overseas and they have an language barrier of understanding anything you questions. I became exhausted from attempts to figure things out. I have the bar for my bedroom and it's great.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: You have extremely poor information and guides, to set up.

Doesn't work for me. Sonos wants you to adopt their approach to world of Musical wonderment. That involves using their app. I don't want their app. All I wanted was a small bluetooth speaker that pairs easily and connects and disconnects easily from my devices bluetooth control service. I manage a variety of bluetooth speaker from Bose, ElectroVoice, Mackie, etc. I don't want/need the Sonos App. I just want a bluetooth speaker Seems that part of the Sonos implementation is not as good as others. Later I experienced the rapid decay of battery life. So, I'm sending mine back and buying the JBL Charge. That one works just fine I'm sure I could work through it all. But I paid a premium for an idiosyncratic product. Disappointed.
Cons: Difficult Setup, battery drain silliness

Connectivity Issue and Support services

I was advised by Sales that the Roam speakers could be an extension of my extensive existing Sonos system. Upon receipt of the two Roam speakers, I was advised that they would not sync with my existing and expensive Sonos 5 speakers. I now am required to have two Sonos Apps on my devises and they must run separately from S1 App. When I contacted technical services that I was having difficulty connecting, I was advised that it was an iPhone hardware issue and they could no help. I deleted the app and reinstalled it on my own and was able to connect. I wanted a single indoor and outdoor synchronized music experience and was unable to accomplish this as expected and advised. I am a long time Sonos user and like the concept but fear the investment in hardware will soon be terminated.
Pros: Good sound when it works
Cons: Difficult Setup, Poor on line assistance, Unreliable

Enjoying the Roam but wish the instructions were more comprehensive for set up. For example, at first my Roam wasn't charging. Had to go online and find out why. I needed a 10W power adapter, rather than a 5W. Sonos should have included the 10W in the package, or at least advised that type to be used.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Superior Sound, Wireless
