Was excited to order when available. I am a big Sonos fan. Disappointed with how it didn't hold a charge very well. Sound was high quality but not was not as voluminous as expected and certainly not of similar caliber as my Sonos Ones.
Pros: Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup, Unreliable

Sales team's knowledge was very limited and inaccurate. Followed by no less than 3 hour long phone calls with Sonos techs. I was pleased that the last tech was able to get it to work. Allowing some time to pass before I call again to try and get it to work properly.

Poor heat management and sub-standard wireless charging

I have this integrated into a system with several other Sonos products. The sound quality and portability are great. Unfortunately, the wireless charging is unreliable and often doesn't work. I have a Move, and keep it on its wireless charging pad most of the time, and it always has a 100% charge. The Roam is on Qi wireless charging pad, and the charge level never stays at 100%, and often goes to near zero and the unit turns off. I thought this was possibly because I have it in a garage that sometimes gets hot, but this happens even at room temperature. Sometimes even plugging into USB won't charge it either. At room temperature, the unit feels warm to the touch, and its temperature status shows up as HOT.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Has problems dealing with heat, Unreliable, Wireless charging does not work well

I'm somewhat amazed that SONOS continues to be so difficult to set up. It was days of failed attempts to make the system recognize the new component. Upgraded to S2 and it all fell apart. Lost my Google assistant. Lost my old school Sonos 5. Could not understand why Roam wouldn't charge. Finally found info on line for all of the above. Still can't get my old Sonos 5 back in the system, but will keep trying. To those who are having trouble, my advice is to persevere. You'll get there, (eventually!) But I must say, no thanks to Sonos...sorry

I bought this wireless speaker so I could listen to the movies and music on my iPad. Unfortunately it does not specify how to listen to any app on the iPad. I was only able to link it to Spotify. I feel it was a waste of money to only be able to use the device that has specific apps programmed to use. Would not buy this again and would not advise buying it.

Roam is a portable device that you can take anywhere, use bluetooth when not at home and SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!! I LOVE ALL OF THE SONOS PRODUCTS!!!! I would recommend to everyone, to make SONOS PRODUCTS, their first choice!!!!!!!!

Great sound. Painful setup for long time customers

The sound is very good for the size of the speaker. Less than the Move but way better than your average portable Bluetooth speakers. Setup was painful. Having to split my large Sonia system was a kick in the teeth to long time customers. Instructions were vague and I had to login 5 times. It was so sloppy that Sonos uses their internal code name for the speaker during the setup process.

Cons: Difficult Setup
