I wish I bought this before the price went up, but still worth every penny. The Bluetooth connects quickly for a near seamless transition from my phone to the roam. Plenty loud enough to use at an outdoor pavillion. When I use this at the house it seamlessly integrates into my existing sonos ecosystem. Sure you can go buy a cheap Bluetooth speaker but it will not have the superior sound quality sonos has.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless

Battery is terrible. what good is a device if it's always dead. make sure it's always plugged in otherwise it will be dead. the buttons are very difficult to use. you constantly have to press the button for 1 sec to do one thing or 3 secs to do something else etc... always find myself doing executing the wrong command because i didn't press the button the right amount of time

My home is full of Sonos products and as soon I heard this was coming out, I had to have one. To my dismay, this product lets Sonos down. Roam will turn itself on and start playing music as soon as you plug it in to recharge. For some reason it will power up even though its not selected on your home system. The battery also discharges quickly when not in use and is always in need of recharging when I need it. I have had this for about a year and have had to reboot my Roam on several occasions. All in all, not a good buy considering the cost.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Short Battery Life, Unreliable

Ordered the pair of these Roam speakers, excited to get to have sound throughout my home, while also having the benefits of portability with Bluetooth pairing. These speakers are poorly manufactured (pressing the power button(s) sometimes turns them on, and sometimes does not), while being a general nightmare to pair "easily" with a Macbook laptop or my iPhone. Once paired, it is nearly impossible to keep them loyally paired to the device for a future use. For someone who has worked in tech for 15 years, these speakers are easily the least reliable "premium hardware" that I have purchased to this point. I would recommend an alternative product until Sonos optimizes the experience and quality.

I really wanted to like this speaker. Sound is nothing to brag about, but for the size of this speaker it does very well. My issue is the BTA connectivity, it just isn't consistent. It connects when it wants and disconnects whenever. I travel extensively and live in hotels. All I want to do is get in and connect my speaker and relax and it's rare I can do that with this speaker. It doesn't want to connect and if it does, no sound some out even though it's "connected". I want to like this speaker, I do when it's connected...but it's become way to tasking and not worth it.
Pros: Attractive, Sound for Size
Cons: Unreliable

Owner of many Sonos products. Quite happy with all of them EXCEPT this one. Total dog. Miserable battery life. Never use it because the battery is always dead. Surprised a quality brand like Sonos would allow this to be sold without better researching its operational deficiencies. I would pass on this one. And in the future, I personally won't be among the first to buy a new Sonos product.

I have enjoyed all of my sonos speakers and this one fills a much needed gap in the lineup. For the price there are much better options but I like the sonos systems. The battery life is nowhere near 10 hours. More like 4-6. There is no true off button as it will continually search for and connect to your WiFi. If it's not plugged in overnight your battery will be seriously drained or dead by morning. It seems like an oversight and could use an update to fix the problem.

I use this speaker to listen to my music on my phone and I listen to a radio station. The sound is amazing and so clear. Because of the size easy to changing where I use it so easily! So fascinated that the quality of the sound coming out of such a small speaker!!
