The speaker isn't bad. Connecting is a pain as I have to go into my bluetooth setting and as setting up with Google home is unreliable. The bass is pretty low quality and the sound is very flat. There's not much depth.
Cons: Poor Sound Quality, Unreliable

Great speaker but Sonos app ruins the experience

This is an amazing speaker, from a sound quality perspective. But the ecosystem is poor. I wish I could just "cast" to it from my favorite music app, rather than add the service to the Sonos app and stream it from there. I use YouTube Music and I pay for it for the experience, however using YouTube Music through the Sonos app makes it work a little different. Autoplay and playlists don't work the same, which is a shame because that's one of the reasons I pay for the service. I wish Sonos was a speaker that let's me play music from whatever device I want (not just through Bluetooth), and not force me to go through their ecosystem. With that said, it's still an amazing sounding speaker.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Superior Sound

Bluetooth doesn't work well at all. Best sound only if you're on Wi-Fi. Most user unfriendly app/device I've ever had

Good sound and battery, connectivity suspect

Great sound like you would expect from Sonos. Perfect multiple device connectivity with Sonia products. Unfortunately, this looses Bluetooth connection more often than not. Can only connect to one device at a time, and requires multiple steps to disconnect first device to connect to another device. Power button is terrible! This is what powers on/off, switches Bluetooth devices, sets up device, etc, and is horrible to use. This is the biggest flaw of the device and for all other products on the market for the price point, it's not worth the money. Would not buy again
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Expandable, Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult to connect to multiple devices, Looses Connection, Power button terrible

A small portable speaker with decent sound from a small package. However, it requires a strong Wi-Fi connection to work at all. Hard to change Wi-Fi settings so a pain to use in different locations. Useless away from Wi-Fi signal. Seems to always be out of battery. So a portable design that isn't really portable. Disappointing to say the least.

Connection Issues Remain

I have an entire Sonos setup everything from the sub to sound bar, to 5's, 3's, 1's with a connect and then there's the Roam. This thing is the most difficult and non-user friendly piece in the whole collection. The Bluetooth is ridiculous to GET connected and keep connected. Definitely wasn't expected when it comes to high dollar, quality Sonos equipment. This one is tough for me to recommend until they get things figured out. Shouldn't be my phone either...it's a new Samsung S21.

Disappointing portable speaker

The sound is pretty good but isn't a good option for a portable speaker. There is no way to attach it to anything if you're on the move. The battery life is very disappointing. You can get a good charge unless you plug it into the wall, usb ports in your car or battery bank don't get the job done. It is not practical for the price. I bought it to replace a older portable speaker but I keep going back to my older speaker. The battery in the older speaker last way longer, it is more rugged and I can attach it to something when I'm on the move. I can see myself chucking the sonos roam into the river next time the battery dies way too soon and just going back to my old speaker.
Cons: Impractical, Short Battery Life
