I live in a small apartment with 12' ceilings.I got this speaker to replace my old faithful 2 Gen Bose sound link, and to round out the sound going into my kitchen area. It does a great job. The only thing that's annoying is it is inconsistent. I have to keep going into my Sonos settings because it keeps disconnecting itself from the system almost every time I put it on.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Unreliable
I would recommend this to a friend!

A little disappointed with my Roam.

I am sorry to not give a glowing review. I purchased a Sonos Roam to replace my 10 year old Bose Bluetooth speaker when it finally stopped working. I was excited because every other Sonos product I have had, probably 10 units over the years, has had wonderful sound quality. Sadly, the sound quality of the Roam is just OK. I think my old Bose speaker had better sound. I have asked for a return authorization and have purchased a new Bose Mini Sound Link. I still love the other Sonos products I have and am I still an avid fan of Sonos.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Wireless
Cons: Poor Sound Quality

Disappointing Battery Performance

I was very excited to see this product hit the market as I am fully bought into the Sonos ecosystem. However, having tested the Sonos now for use outdoors ans in my office, I have to say that I am very disappointed by the battery life; specifically the charge hold. I charge up the Roam to 100% and will go a day or two without using it only to come back to it to find the battery is completely dead. My battery powered toothbrush can hold a charge for weeks without use or a recharge. Sonos needs to seriously look into this. I would return it to the store but the return period has lapsed.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Streams All My Music, and More, Wireless
Cons: Battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have always loved my sonos products. But the roam has left me frustrated with Sonos. I am sure they were trying to achieve a low price point, but only include the cord, but not the plug, was SUPER cheap. In doing so, when my roam has loss charge I am waiting for 2.5 HOURS for it to have ANY charge. They show the product with the wireless charger at the lower price point in the pictures, but surprise, you only get a cord!!!
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Battery life, Charging issues, Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this to test out Sonos as a possible replacement for my Bose wifi home audio system and to replace my UE Boom 2 Bluetooth system. The sound quality on the Sonos roam is quite good, considering the price, and it's a nice looking sturdy device. However, I'm constantly having connectivity issues between the roam and my iphone, the battery life is poor, and the Bluetooth range is not very good. I had hoped for a better experience, and I'm not sure at this point if I will pursue a multi-room Sonos system.
Pros: Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult to Use, Poor Bluetooth range, Short Battery Life, Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Need to add some enlightenment about the requirement of Bluetooth if you want to use outside . You also need to mention you need a good data plan if you want to play music cost effectively
Pros: Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup

We have a Playbar and 2 Play 1's in the living room and bought 2 Roams for using in the Office and on the go. The software to control the Roams is poorly designed and executes just as bad. Running on batteries, it's important that the Roams go to sleep to conserve power, but whenever we used the speakers in the family room (and yes, they were set up as separate groups) at least one of the Roams would power up draining the battery. With other connection issues occurring regularly for the 5 days that I had them, I decided that they were more of a problem than a solution. I returned them and bought 2 One SL's for the Office. Since they are powered, no battery issues and the software to control them works much better. Now to find something that works well on the go.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult to Use, Software Needs Big Update, Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
